Nurgle's Rotters - Beast of Nurgle

I am a bit new to BB, but I understand the rules, and can play a game without too make look-ups in the rulebook.
Now, I (among others) play Nurgle's Rotters, my favourite team.
I keep finding my team lists without a Beast of Nurgle, I simply think he is too expensive.
My team usually looks like this:
2 Warriors
3 Pestigors
6 Rotters
4 re-rolls
Now, I would like to discuss whether Nurgle's Rotters really need a Beast or not. Are they good enough without it, or should I cut down and get it in there? I prefer to have lots of re-rolls (hence, four) since I always screw up at important moments or careless moments, never in between.
PS: No tournie play, just one-offs.
PPS: We are not competitive, and we don't use fan-factor, just die-offs

Take the beast TAKE THE BEAST! ... now now now! ... DO IT!
I started my current Nurgle team like this
2 warriors
2 pestigors
6 rotters
1 beast
3 rr
Rotters are fine, and journey rotters get in the way just as well as normal ones.
And the beast is what makes gutter runners and WE catchers cry them selfs to slep at night. Give it Standfirm + Guard and it will realy be a beast
and now just to brag, my nurgle team

What about the experimental LRB 6.0? I tihnk they buttf*ck'd Tentacles a great deal there...
Do you think they will be official anytime soon, or even at all?

Not in the slightest. The % success/fail is exactly the same as it is in LRB5, it's just been re-worded to cut down on dice rolls, and remove the need for FAQs on things like Pro, etc.

I've played Nurgle some.
I found the Big guy to be just like every other big guy.
The team does not need him to play, but works pretty well when you field one.
I didn't like the negatrait and the way it interacted with my way of planning turns so personally I was much better off playing without a beast. Your mileage may vary.

The Beast of Nurgle is the best guy in BB.
But having said that I would rather go for the four warriors first. this way you have reliable hitters, and four players with Foul Appearance and Distubing Presence.
Not a fan of `stupid`rolls!

Hmm... I'm still in two minds. To me, a Warrior and a Rotter is better. because they simply offers two models to fill my requirement of 11, and they offer more blocks because they are two models instead of one. And Tentacles don't really do it for me...

Starting out especially I agree with you.

In addition, we don't play tournies, we just play one-offs. So I prolly wouldn't ever get to use the Beast effectively

well, that's your problem right there. So, start doing a league or progressive style, or higher-than-tv-100 one-offs, and then take the beast ^^

If you are just playing one off games, then whether or not to take the beast would depend a lot on which teams you are playing.
Against any elf, skaven or even human teams the Beast (and more importantly it's tentacles) are pure gold.
Against orcs, dwarves, chaos or anything that likes to bash, I would go the route of the four warriors.
Tentacles on a S5 player is amazing, but you have to be careful how you use it. your saying that you do not like it remind me of when I thought Kick was a useless skill until I saw it being used effectively. Now it is one of my top choices!

Question: why would you take Guard on the beast before Break Tackle or Stand Firm? These two skills are the must-haves for a beast on a normal roll.
