Human Team list - give your oponion : )

When I bought the BB starterbox, I didn't really care for the models. Since then, I've converted my own Orc team and decided to use the Human models as they are, because I think they are surprisingly neat!

I am not going to buy more models I think, so this team setup is the best I can come up with (quite nice, if you ask me):

2 Blitzers
2 Catchers
1 Thrower
6 Linemen

6 re-rolls
1 fan factor (not a big deal in our one-offs)

Total: 1.000.000

What do you think of it with my limited rescourses?

given you are just using the plastic team from the box, there isn't really much else we can offer is there?

If he is using the box set, then I'll offer the suggestion to drop 1 or maybe 2 re-rolls and invest in 5 more FF and some coaches or cheerleaders.

I think you'll get more re-rolls and benefit from deny-ing re-rolls to your opponent that way, that have 6 rostered re-rolls.

2 blitz
2 catch
1 throw
6 line

4 re-rolls
5 FF
3 cheerleaders
3 asst. coach.

Now even if just one offs (no skills gained or money won) I would venture a guess that the kick off table will be more friendly to you with this version. Granting you re-rolls and extra fame for pitch invasions and rocks and the like.

If you'd rather possibly, drop some to get an apoth as well. Say 2 FF and 2 cheer and 2 assts to get an apoth to put positionals back on the pitch ?

in all honesty this team will struggle to do well

not enough players
way too many rerolls

You must have some horrible dice rolls to justify this many rerolls. Chance is, 1 or even 2 of these are just a waste of cash as they will not get used during a game.

Even with 4 rerolls, I have found that 1 may not get used within a game.

Each to their own really.

I would reconsider your approach to not buying any other players and maybe invest in either an ogre and/or 2 more blitzers.

Without an extra blitzer at least, you are going to be doing it quite tough. This also depends on what teams are coming up in your league or friendly games as well. If they are orcs and dwarves, well you better start getting some strong tactics organised and hope the dice favour you throughout the game (yours and your opponent's rolls).

I also see an 11 man lineup with no apothecary. Under LRB6, this team could really make use of one.

IMO humans need all 4 blitzers and the Ogre. Just buy the extra minis for them and you'll be okay.

Gotta have the 4 Blitzers. I am sure someone here will give you the extra plasic ones if you ask nicely.

or even just use other miniatures and mark them up so you both know what they are  more cost efective

Thank you very much for you input.

A guy gave me his plastic Human Blood Bowl team from the box, for free, so I have doubles of everything now. ; )

I find 4-2-1-5 to be a good solid mix for a Human team that lacks an Ogre, but the Ogre is pretty sweet.

score

so a i right in thinking you've got 4 blizers, 4 catchers, 2 throwers and 12 linemen???

as for a lineup i'd go for something along these lines:

4 blitzers - these are your reliable players. good movement and block.
1 thrower - after all it's a lineman with sure hands. that saves a reroll
2 catchers - because i think you'll want to use these players
5 linemen - well you;ve got to have them.

personally i'd try and find an ogre from somewhere (borrow one from a friend or use a different figure) and do away with the catchers. you have to keep the catchers protected to utilise them effectively. well imo anyway.

I hate the Human Catcher for ST2, but he is the only position on the team that has straight access to Agility skills. So I think you need the position, but can't go overboard on it. I'd suggest 2 Catchers on a starting team, and if you have MORE than 2 Catchers I don't suggest fielding more than 2 at once unless you've built them as Safeties and are facing Woodies/Skaven.

Its not the among the first 1-3 skills you usually put on a Catcher, but Pass Block on a guy with Catch skill is wonderful (Block and Side Step usually trump it).

Also wonderful annoying fun on a Catcher is Shadowing. Loads of fun on a MA8 player, but again not among the first 1-3 skills usually selected.

As much as I hate the Human Catcher, I think the position is an essential element to the team.

Score indeed. Not totally - I've got 4 Throwers : )

Well, I DO have an Ogre, the female Manhunter version... : )
