6/4 on a Bull centaur

My Bull just got his 1st upgrade (Spp) as it was 6/4 I opted for +1ma making him M7 (+3 GFI with sprint/sure feet)
Now Im wondering if plain old "Block" would have been better, I have loads of Block on the HobGobs (as well as C/Ds) and a S4 M10 player will hopefully get to 16Spps quite quickly...
Thoughts...?

Sounds like a great safety!

Go with +AV. AV10 makes the guy stay alive for long...
(I play in LONG term leagues where we are around 50+ games for alot of teams)

"It's better to burn out than to fade away", as Kurgan said
I'd take the MA over the AV.
That being said, in a very short league I'd just take block.
But in a longer league, MA, block and break tackle would rock.
Cheers

I wouldn't have taken the MA personally. He is already pretty fast, but without break tackle can't dodge to use it.

I'd have gone for block. Block and Break Tackle are the two skills bulls really need and I'd probably want them as soon as possible so I had them for as many games as possible. While +Ma is really neat after those two skills it isnt quite neat enough to justify taking (or justify the extra TV).
What I really wouldnt do is take +Av

I wouldn't take AV.
I would probably take Block or Break Tackle on the first advance. Butfor a 6 4 on a third advance, I would take +MA.

Ditto. MA would be useful, but Block and Break Tackle are vital skills for a Bull Centaur

+MA was the right choice. In the immediate future...he's not quite as good, but he'll skill up pretty quickly if you give him the ball, and once he gets break tackle (which I'd get him before block), he'll be an amazing player.

I would suggest you have 3 choices here:
+1MA
+1MA
+1MA
Hope this helps.
Cheers
MA

+MA all the way. It makes a huge difference when you are left in a tricky spot and 2 turns to score...as well as making him an even better ball retriever.

Seriously, without Break Tackle all that MA is not worth squat. You have got a 160K black orc for all intents and purposes.

Even Black Orcs have a 75% of a successful Dodge with a reroll.
And I don't think bulls have that much trouble getting to a third skill.
Break Tackle then Block is my development of choice but I don't feel straying from this for a stat increase is going to break the player.

Personally? AV10 all the way. Keeps him alive for longer.

How many re-rolls does he have? Because if he is going to take MA7 over a skill, he'll want to use it every turn. Or at least every other turn. Because Block costs 10K less and he sure as heck would get to use that (almost) every turn. Even if he doesn't
need it after the roll, it still means he can throw a block with confidence. He can use Break Tackle most turns too, and it unlocks 50K of otherwise untapped movement. But there is no way he can dodge every turn on a 4+. Even if he had 8 re-rolls and never needed to use them for anything else, its still a losing strategy IMO. 75% is not good odds in BB over even a medium length timeline.

I have found it takes a lot longer than one might think. Their development slows down a lot as TV rises because the bull becomes too risky a ball carrier. Again, 75% is just too much of a risk against mediumly developed elves or skaven. So the hobgobs have to score the TDs, cutting off the BC's supply of SPPs.
