My first star in a new CD team.
A bull got +AV/MA
+MA is tempting. Should I take it?

Yes
+1MV adds to thier already impressive move. Makes him an even better scorer or defender.
The +1 AV is not a huge jump and I find the Bulls don't fall all that often anyway.

Exact same topic down the page a bit.

I'd probably take it, but others would suggest not.

Bah. You can't count on rolling that high again. Take the +MA while you can. 10 movement on a S4 player is badass. You can always take break tackle or block next time, when you roll a 3.

Thanks guys.
Yeah potential M10 on a S4 player is valuable...
In this stage I use both bulls as scorers and I think the extra move will make him easier to level up again and get that block...

I'd consider break tackle next actually. The mobility increase is pretty immense, and since he's your primary scorer, it shouldn't take too long to get the block.

Scorers? How the h. do you manage to pick up the ball?

Sure hands would seem to be a good skill somewhere down the line.
Anyways, id say go with the ma. Playing against CD right now, and the movement are fearsome! But even sure feet are bound to fail sometimes, +Ma will keep your bull standing more, and beeing fouled less.
(Lets say your making 20 gfi with each bull per game, then one of them will fall over every game).

Pick up with a hobgob, then hand off to the BC (75%with a reroll).
Not difficult.

Well picking up the ball with a ag2 and RR is 75%, no need for the hobgob then.
(wich is why i suggested sure hands at some point)

Find picking up with the BC means they're normally stuck deep in the backfield (my opponents kicks always seem to scatter to my EZ).

I like to start a bull in the front half of my side and a hobgoblin deep. If the kick is deep, I do a hand-off to a bull. If the kick is shallow, I support the ball with some hobgoblins then pick up with the bull. If it's a touchback...obviously the minotaur should get it (jk

I think you end up at about 60% on hobgob-pick up > Bull hand off. With RR.

Break Tackle isn't as important if you are scoring with the bull. You can blitz off the player marking you and walk into the end zone, or blitz the hole open and pour through.
break tackle is usually better when you don't have the ball, in my opinion.

See, I think that ball-carrying is for Hobs unless it's Turn 7 or the Hobs have really been worked over. 3/4 as a policy scares me away.

My chaos dwarf experience- Use your early season to skill up your bulls to have break tackle and block. Stunt team development and wins to do so.
In your first 5 games, you should be able to get each bull one or two skills, and then you switch into the mode of trying to win.
If you play a 6 game season, that's not the way to go. A 10-20 game season, on the other hand, and you'll be happy you followed the advice.
Longterm though, I don't like bulls as ball carriers even if they have +AG. They are great threats, but should be seldom used. One of the most awesome moments you can have as a Chaos dwarf coach is watching your opponent decide whether or not to mark your bull who is in scoring range with one of his precious elves!
