Dark Elf Blitzer with STR 2

Post by Jeremiah Kool »

One of my Dark Elf Blitzers got injured last game and suffered a strength penalty. So now he´s STR 2.

My first thought was I need to kick this player off the team. But I have only eleven players including him (4 x Blitzer, Runner, 6 x Lineelf).

I could use him as fodder for the LOS, desperate actions or dangerous tasks. He currently has 2 SPP, first skill would be Dauntless.

When I have enough cash I want to buy the two Witch Elves, one after the other.

My question(s):

1. Would you kick this player off the team right now and get a journeyman Lineelf?

2. Would you get rid of him when there is enough money for a Witch Elf?

3. Would you only get rid of him when the team has two Witch Elves and enough money is there to buy a replacement Blitzer?

(BTW, I´m not a fan of Assassins. I´d buy one only if I have all Blitzers and Witch Elves on the team.)

I'd replace him with a journeyman line man, and then either buy the witch or a new blitzer as your next player.

Yes you've been set back in your path to a full roster, but I don't think a st2 blitzer will help your team at all.

Have to agree, kick him straight off and be done with him. I had a Str 2 DE blitzer but he also has +1 MA so I kept him around for a bit, ultimately he had to go though, just too puny to make it.

I say keep him. He still has otherwise good stats and Block. Keep him until you can replace him with a Witch or another Blitzer :)

You fire his lazy gimpy a$$ immediately and don't look back. Get a Journey Lino. Save your pennies. You have a solid team even if you only field 10 players, so the Journeyman is an OPTION. Leaving off the Journeyman saves 70K from the Team Value, which could buy you better cards for inducements. If this puts you in the range to pick up a 200K or 400K card for a game, the SPPs you can milk from one of those make everything worthwhile.

Normaly I would have kicked him before even thinking about keeping him, but if you are playing with only rookie teams, ST2 block and next skill dodge will make him usefull untill you get money to buy a new blitzer, but let the witches be bougth first.

ST2? Dump him.

I would retire him.

Every time I keep a cripple on one of my rosters, he seems to get half of the MVPs... Accordingly, I always regret not having fired him.

Hope this helps.

Depends on how advanced the rest of your league is.

I am assuming from the 2 SPPs that this is a fairly new team.

If so, I would hold onto him if for nothing other than to let you save your money for witches. If he dies, he dies, but you've already paid for him, so you might as well use him.

Keep him in the backfield and mark catchers or something.

At least that way, your witch comes in as player #12 and he can always be a warm body in a pinch.

The journeyman is better for the team - dump him.

As the majority has allready stated; fire him straight away. It would be awful if he was awarded the MVP in his next match. Furthermore I assume he is MNG anyways.

Well, joining in on the choir a bit late, but its really hard to see a use for a st2 Blitzer.

If you compare to a Journeyman:

MVP is a waste for both. (unless possibly you keep him and make him a Sneaky Git/Dirty Player)

Both are as expendable on the LOS.

The Blitzer cost you 10 TV, wich could be used for inducements, for instance Extra RR, Extra Apoth, Card.

I have not calculated it, but ST 3 should be about equal or better than ST2 Block in almost any concievable situation.

You would have a Blitzer with no function, he wouldnt be good at blitzing, ball reciever/carrier etc. Avoiding SPP he wouldnt work as a thrower either. He wouldnt be better than a journeyman as fodder, and he costs the team up to a RR or APoth in TV.

Thus there is a point in time when you shouldnt.

The journeyman wouldn't necessarily be a waste for the MVP since you might be able to afford to buy him after the game. With elf journeymen, a skill in the first game isn't out of the question.
