Hey guys, got a pro-elf blitzer rolled a 10 for a skill up. already has dodge skill so was wondering whether people would take the MA or the AV?
I am tempted by AV just to have an armour 9 elf, but MA8 would also work for it.
suggestions, thoughts?

I'd definitely go for MA. I doubt people are going to try to hit a blodgstepper (<---don't know if i can say that :-? ) ... And if they have to you already have a lot to survive. So no AV... MA for the mobility will be very useful: an extra MA 8 player will be so useful on defense during a deep kick as you can put an extra TZ quiet easily on the ball if your opponent doesn't pick it up during his first turn.

I've got a question myself with an elf blitzer: i rolled a double. This is his first skill. If that was a normal, i was going for tackle (dodge is amazing, but I think i need an early tackle in our league)... So I rolled double, and chose guard. Should I have stayed with the normal roll tackle or did I do the right choice ?

PS: i could have used an other post. If you want me to, I'll do it.

my one elf blitzer to roll double actually took mighty blow which has been a great help (8 of the teams 24 cas in 8 games) as she tends to be bashing through a flank.
guard though is always useful for elves, but IMO less so on a blitzer as they dont tend to be sitting around the other elves, but thats just my opinion.

think will go movement on the other blitzer though, good to have speed.

7349 Block, Dodge and Fend later will make this guy annoying for your opponents. The diffrence between AV8 and 9 is rather big.

Take +AV

I have a d´DE blitzer 7349 Block, Dodge, Side Step, Fend and he is great on LOS.

Pro elf have more than enough of MA on the team, but they all lack AV.

i'd go with the AV

with blodge and sidestep he is really annoying to knock away from the ball carrier

and often in that situation you will be taking a lot of blocks around a cage, so will help survive more when they go down

you already have awesome catchers I don't think the speed will add much

90% of the time I recommend MA over AV.

But...

1) You have 0-4 players with a relative +MA and no ST difference.

2) Starting with MA7, Block and Side Step, this guy is a cornerback or inside LB, so he either gets hit a lot or redirects a lot of hits onto other corners or inside LBs.

3) He already has MA7, which is the big break-point.

4) He now carries a TV+ of 140k, and it will likely increase quickly.

All that speaks to AV over MA. But I'm not sure how loudly. I'd probably take AV, and then use him as the cagebuster, getting Strip Ball as a #2 skill. Those guys often end up on their butts even when the play works, and with Side Step you can minimize the impact of fouling.

+1AV for me.

My Elf Blitzers live in opponents TZs.
It's where they do their business.

It's where they do their business.

If they were better trained, they'd do their business outside...rather than in a TZ. :D

That beats the old "Banana Skin" card anyday.
