Wood elves for a 100K LRB5 tourney

I have tried to do some searching for the info I require, but could not find any. The closest thing to it was the (very outdated) tournament roster suggestions which is stickied...

My question is - what would be the best wood elf team to take for a 100K tourney?

2 wardancers
3 catchers
1 thrower
5 line elves
1 RR

OR

2 wardancers
1 catcher
8 line elves
2 RR

The advance system between rounds is going to be a bit different. There will be a random rolling of K value a few times in the tourney. This money can be used to buy skills, RR, whatever... After creating the team at 100K I can spend 70K on advances (and bank some for later if I like).

I would like to get thoughts on which team people think is best as well as advances for the team.

Keep in mind, that if I go with the second option, I could always save my money up and buy another catcher in the next round - with the money being generated (cannot remember exacly how much but minimum 40-50K) then it is feasible (just means less skills).

All thoughts welcome.

I asked a similar question, plumped to the first one and was runner up in a 70 coach tournament.

With the 70k what can you spend it on? Anything? If so +ST war dancer and leader on the thrower.

Yes, you can spend it on anything. The +ST wardancer does sound like a solid plan!

There was another suggestion for a team - what would people think of this:

4 catchers 360
1 thrower 90
6 line elves 420
2 RR 100
3 AC/CL 30

This team looks very offensively capable, but the lack of wardancers makes me wonder how it would be on the defense...

Absolutely not! You should have wardancers. Especially with the ST + and posibly another ST + or AG + wardancer later. That just sounds plain broken.

Drop both rerolls and take two war dancers and it might work. You need some block to get the ball...

No Rerolls! Ach! I don't think I could stomach that!

As it turns out, I was mistaken - there was one less lineman and one more thrower which would then bring the AC/CL to 1. But then again, you could do as you suggested, or even with 1 RR and one wardancer.

So beyond the first round, what would be some recommended choices for advances? Keep in mind that after games 2 and 4 all teams will get d4+3 x 10,000 gp (so between 40-70K) to increase as I see fit.

Can you stack skills and stats?

I would say the next you would want was kick and AG or ST + WD.

Frenzy on the ST + WD.

Yeah skills and stats can stack to a maximum of three per player.

Kick is a good choice - had that in my mind.

But for woodies, is dodge or block better for the line-elves?

I have to say, I don't know whether to take this as a bad omen that the two people giving me advice on this are "Triple Skulls" and Ian Williams aka "DoubleSkulls" on NAF! :o

LOL...

Wrestle or dodge for line elves. Block is for losers :)

Apart from kick I'd focus skills on the positionals.
