Yes more Dwarf Questions.

Post by zephard »

Ok, I decided to take up the boring bunch, mainly because I)they seemed so cookie cutter, II) I have never played them, III) they are opposite of all elves and thats what I have been playing.

Here is the team rundown:
Troll Slayer 5 3 2 8 Block, Frenzy, Dauntless, Thick Skull, Mighty Blow (10)
Troll Slayer 5 3 2 8 Block, Frenzy, Dauntless, Thick Skull, Mighty Blow, Juggernaut (20)
Blitzer 5 3 3 9 Block, Thick Skull, Guard (6)
Blitzer 5 3 3 9 Block, Thick Skull, Mighty Blow (13)
Runner 6 3 4 8 Sure Hands, Thick Skull, Block, +1 AG (26)
Runner 7 3 3 8 Sure Hands, Thick Skull, Block, +1 MA (19)
Blocker 4 3 2 9 Block, Tackle, Thick Skull, Guard (9)
Blocker 4 3 2 9 Block, Tackle, Thick Skull, (6) (thinking going Guard)
Blocker 4 3 2 9 Block, Tackle, Thick Skull, Guard (14)
Blocker 4 3 2 9 Block, Tackle, Thick Skull (5)
Blocker 4 3 2 9 Block, Tackle, Thick Skull (5)
Blocker 4 3 2 9 Block, Tackle, Thick Skull, Guard (9)

Guard Blitzer was my first Guard on the team.

My question is what do to with those Runners skill wise? I am having a hard time with the choices for them. They both got the improvement the same game.

Not really sure what to do with the Blitzers.

I was going to give the TS w/Jugger SF next.

The TS without Jugger, thinking of giving him SF or Piling On.

Ok, not well thought out after Guard. Was going to give 3 of the Guard Blockers Stand Firm as the second skill, and try to give Grab to 2 or 3 Blockers once they got Guard.

for the +ma guy, I would develop him along the lines of a safety. strip ball, maybe tackle and use him to help recover against a breakout on defence. On offence he can go all lolcats on them - im in ur bakfield, hitting ur elvses. and maybe scoring a couple of tds.

the +ag guy I would give pass to, just to keep options open, and a mix of skills like strip ball.

doubles for both would be dodge then sure feet.

Split the runners up. I'd use one for offence and the other for defence, the +Mv guy would be good to pickup strip ball with while the +AG guy would be nice to turn into a proper runner.

Also, cant understress how good guard and then MB is. One of the reasons you see all these "woo, lets try dorfs in a different way threads" is that they really are better if you build them the traditional and boring way. I find that the best motto for dwarfs is "keep it boring noob" - if you're doing something exciting like fouling, dodging, or passing you're probably in trouble.
