6+4 on a Pro Elf lino (edited the title)

I am using a pro-elf team. I've never played anything with AG4 before (apart from gutterrunners), and I have to say it's a nice change.

We have a small league, 1 Underworld team, 1 High Elf team, 1 Undead team, 1 Orc team, and me with pro-elves.

We dont have anything fixed, and the guy with HE and the Orc player are fairly new (orc-player has never played before, HE player some games a few years ago).
I just want these guys to enjoy their game (I know I will anyway), and make sure all the games are fair and "hard" (as in, no walk-overs).

Roster so far:

Blitzer, Elf - Bl, SS, Dodge
Blitzer, Elf - Bl, SS, Dodge
Catcher, Elf - catch, NoS
Catcher, Elf - catch, NoS, Block
Thrower, Elf - Pass, SH
Line, Elf - kick
Line, Elf - 6+5
Line, Elf -
Line, Elf -
Line, Elf -
Line, Elf -

The 6+4 was rolled after her (I am using Bunnies from Shadowforge) last casualtt, she scored 3 now.

Should I go with the movement, the armour, or somthing like Sidestep or Block ? I cant really see the value of an Armour value increase for a lino at this point, the movement MAY be nice (but I plan on getting more catchers anyway), but I'd rather have a skill...

First I was thinking Sidestep, to put her on the LoS. Then again, block may be better... theother teams are fairly underdeveloped at the moment, I dont see a block/dodge catcher appearing soon in this league (hence, I dont see the value of tackel on this one, yet).

There was more advise here and there on pro-elves, I've copied some of it. But, if someone out there has more advise, please post it ! It's good to read something about tactics now and then.

For some of you playing pro-elves might be not that challenging, but for me it's a welcome change of pace. I've played enough matches with chaos, orcs, skaven and nurgle (and so on...) that I really want to experience that "2+, and another 2+" feeling now and then :D .

Cheers,

JaM

Surely, 6+5 is +AG? Which I would take.

I personally think AV is a decent choice, but there's always a trade off between skills that make her less likely to be knocked down and being less likely to be hurt if she does.

Go dodge, then wrestle. 90k on a glorified human lino is not a good use of TV...

If it is a 6+5 then I would take AG+1 every time...

11 roll on skills is an AG+, and deffinently take it. Then give him leap and dodge and he will drive opponents crazy. Not necessarily as the next two skills, but they would be up there on my choices every time.

Ouch... it was a 6+4, so either an MV, an AG, or a skill.

Sorry guys, edited the title + my post

6+5 would be AG in a heartbeat, but 6+4 is more of a conundrum. If you think you don't have/won't get enough positionals, you could take MA. Otherwise, I think loading up on line-elves with Side Step is just all kinds of fun. Side Step is better on the LOS than Block or Dodge, and the LOS is where you tend to suffer.

Yes, I've seen you say that before, but I will be facing 4 Black Orcs sometime soon. Surely, NOT getting knocked down vs "choosing where you land with AV 7" is better ?
because, to me, the Sidestep is a passive skill. Unless they hit you, you wont use it. Where block is useful in hitting, and getting hit...

I usually play Dark Elves (Which makes the choice easier, better Av) but on a Line elf Id probably go Block as staying on your feet is a better option IMHO

Also (this may not be a factor in a short league) but you will suffer from TV bloat (giving away inducements is never good !)

well, we use a rare mix of inducements, the "red card" from the deathzone box, and most of the deathzone-cards.

Overall I am not too worried about "giving away inducements", even if this would be a regular league. I rather have what is best for the team, instead of thinking about what might be good for the opponent, in the long run.

We will take the teams to TR (TV, I know...) 200, if possible. Might take a year or 2 (depending on how often we play). After that we will have a big brawl (4 sided deathbowl-board, might see if I can make one 5-6 sided though) and retire the teams. maybe promote a few players to stars, or use them to start a new team.... not sure yet.

So I do intend to get all the positionals filled.

I'd take the MA. MA7 is a lot faster than MA6 - and it helps that player skill up faster too.

+Av although useful isn't as great. On a skill-less player you really are doing it to sit them on the LOS and get beaten up, and I'd really be using skill-less or injured linemen for that.

Disagree.

I'd take +MA I think.

Looking at the statts in the first post, I'd take a +1 AG.

Seeing that it should be 6+4, I'd take the extra movement. Lino's that move faster than the opponent are a Pain in the B@tt.

But but... :?: I already have ma7 and ma8 players (blitzers and catchers). will the +1 MA on the lino have more impact on my game than (for example) block, or ss ??

Kinda confused about it, I was more thinking about either block or ss or wrestle... :-?
