Wich team to take (again), this time vs. Chaos.

So, I'm in this small league (5 players, no schedule). I've played a friend of mine some time now, me using Pro-Elves, he's using Underworld.

We both want zomething different, so we have decided to start another team (not abandoning our current teams though).
He will use Chaos, I want something different. I expect his team to become a monster in some games after the first few... claw, block, mighty blow, and some ballhandling skills on 1-2 beastmen.
He's been quite succesfull with a team like that before.

I want to use a team that will give him a run for his money (well, if possible). I've ruled out Orcs and Undead. I also dont want to use any Elves I think. Well, maybe Dark Elves... :-?

Anyway: please vote for the team you think has a decent chance, and will make for interesting games vs. a Chaos team that (probably) will run rampage after a couple of games.

norse from that lot, if he loads up on claws etc most your players are already av7

also having lots of block will be handy

I voted Norse too on the assumption that this is a LRB5(+) league. Introduce your snow troll and frenzied chaps to his nice, squishy beastmen and it may stave off his team development for a game or two. :-)

Yes, it is LRB 5.5 (or whatever it's called).

A well played and good developed Darkelf team will give most bashing teams a serius headache.
A good mix of block dodge, and block side step, can realy ruin his day, plus you can outrun and out position him.

Norse is good early, but fades hard as Chaos, and any other team, gain in skills....

I voted Necro (and why wouldn't I?! ) as Chaos has a hard time catching the Wolves.... I played way down in TV to a cheesed-up Chaos team and still only lost in overtime....

Close second (though I'd never play them) is Chaos Dwarves as they start with the most skills.... Centaurs are pretty awesome....

Frankly, I dont think I will play Dark Elves. I did add them to the options though, but it was more of an afterthought.

Necromantic, now that is something new (for me). Hmmmm...

Chaos Dwarves. You start out much better at blocking and giving every Dwarf who rolls a double Claw will give you better "can opener" than he's got.

Although Norse are nice too.

Well, I've decided to go with Necromantic.

It's because there was supposed to start a league in the local shop, but it has not begun due to too little interest.
I've collected some miniatures for it anyway, this will be a good opportunity to get them painted.
Chaos Dwarves would be my second choice though, and if it all falls down or looks "unplayable" to me, I'll try the Chaos Dwarves (unplayable -> I have a hard time using Lizards, cant get used to them or use them).

Thanks for all the advise here, I will try to make some post when I paint the models, try some kind of blog... but dont hold your breath for that, I've got some woodies to paint first.

Thanks,

JaM
