Hey.. Im new at this forum, and joinede because i wantede to have some other opinions on a starting Norse team, since im going to start in a new league soon, and have choose Norse..

My plan is.
1 Snow Troll
2 Ulfwerners
2 Berserkers
1 Runner
1 Thrower
4 Linemen
1 Reroll
4 Fan Factor

And then get a Apo as soon as i earn 50k, then go for 1 reroll, and then 1 Runner.

But i want to hear if that idea just is crazy or sound just alittle okay.
Thanks you in advance :)

It's crazy :) You're way low on Rerolls my friend, and those are harder to get after a while than for example the Snow Troll.

Check out the thread with suggested starting rosters here.

I'd probably lower the fanfactor and either drop the Snow Troll or one of the Ulfwerners to get another Reroll and a Runner (or possibly lineman).

I would have ditched the fan factor; it's a bit overrated. I would exchange the snow troll for a line man and either one of the ulfenwerners or a berserker for a runner. Then buy as many re-rolls as I can afford.

Reason for the fanfactor (yea forgot to mention that) is that in the league i play we made house rule to make Fan Factor more important.. So your earning is based on your fan factor.. You get around 10k per fan factor, depending on if you playing home or out ect.

Ok, but in that case you probably should go even higher on FF, since this will make you earn money very quickly.

How about the following?

Basics:
--------
3 Rerolls: 180k
11 Linemen: 550k

Extras:
--------
2 Berzerker upgrades: 80k
1 Ulfwerner upgrade: 60k
2 Thrower upgrades: 40k
9 Fan Factor: 90k

This is exacly 1000k, and should provide you with a really strong team after a few games given that you gain much money from FF. 9 FF should make it possible for you to hire an Apo after the first game, and even if you decrease in FF you should be able to hire the Snow Troll after game two. Replace killed Linemen with Runners / Ulfwerner, and give Leader to one of the Throwers (and Sure hands to the other) early on to give you even more Rerolls.

If you've cranked up FF, then go all out.

3 rerolls + apoth = 230k
8 FF (your houserule) = 80k

2 Ulfs (Hands down best positional) = 220k
1 Thrower (Leader) = 70k
8 Linemen (Blllock) = 400k
1000k

Add runner, berzerker, snow troll in whatever order you prefer, should not take long with your cranked up FF.

I don't see a point in more than 1 runner (lone dodge not great + he's overpriced).

I don't think the snowtroll is that great before he gets MB or block (hasn't happened for me after 9 games).

Berzerkers are great, but a bit expensive again. Norse can't build a heavy guardspam with only 5 S access players and low AV of 7.

Carnis has a good idea with large fan factor but I would take different positionals. I'm not a fan of the Ulf's TBH (no block w/frenzy is dangerous).

2 beserkers 180k
1 runner (ballcarrier) 90k
1 snow troll 140k
6 linemen 300k
3 rerolls 180k
11 FF 110K

11 players to begin with and 3 rerolls. Get Apo first then Ulf's then whatever takes your fancy.

You will be taking full advantge of the extra money rule possibly even taking the piss

It's both good suggestions :D but Setomidor's idea just was more.. Me.. Since i like the Ulfs, and Throwers.. They both have good potential to level up. The same with Berskers, with Frenzy, Block and Jump up.. Just need to give em' piling on.

But i went with this:
-----------
5 Linemen
2 Thrower
2 Berserkers
2 Ulfwerners
2 Reroll
9 Fanfactor

Then after 2 matches i have 1 snowtroll and 1 Apo.. and maybe even more depending on special play cards :)

This would be a good idea apart from the fact that you can only start with a maximum of 9 FF as dictated by page 16 of the rulebook.
