Slan @ 1200

Post by TuernRedvenom »

I'm thinking about Slann for this ruleset:

Each team can be constructed using 1.200.000 gps following LRB 6.
• The following inducements are allowed: 0‐3 bribes, 0‐1 halfling master chef,
0‐1 igor, 0‐1 star player & 0‐2 halfling waitresses (each waitress gives +1 on
the roll to steal rerolls from the opponent using a master chef; each waitress
costs 100K)

At the start of the tournament each coach is allowed to spend 25 points on skills and stat increases according to the following point system:
• 3 points for normal skill
• 5 points for a skill only allowed on a double
• 8 points for an extra MA or AV
• 10 points for an extra AG
• 12 points for an extra ST
No player can receive more than one skill or stat increase and a aximum of five players can be given a normal skill.

I was thinking:
4 catchers @ 320k
1 krox @ 140k
8 linemen @ 480k
5 rerolls @ 250k
1 assistant coach

skills:
5 regulars:
Dodge on 2 Catchers
Wrestle on 2 linemen
Strip Ball on 1 lineman

2 doubles:
Guard on 1 lineman
Block on the Krox

what do you think?

I think I'm glad I'm on your team :D

Played slann for 5 games or so and you will obviously need those reserves. 5 RR will get you far, but maybe giving one up can help you to field a star player? Slann can field Hemlock, and he looks kind of annoying to me...

I do like the skill choises, however my first reaction was to get the Krox guard. He's more likely to keep the pitch than the one lineman and it fits a passive role.

Guard a catcher, not a lineman. 2+ guard anywhere is wicked.

Skip a lino for an apoth, and use on a skilled player/positional bh or a 2nd half knockout.

Swap the strip for a block. You will not regret it. 4 Blocks/wrestles in 11 players in all is not too much really. Strip won't be too useful in an 8+ skill tourney I would think. Can do pretty much the same with wrestle + guard catcher (2die into cage).

Consider a surehands catcher, not mandatory, but can be very useful.

Good advice, I'll use it (except the SH catcher).
We'll see how I do.
