Norse Lineman - Fend or Wrestle

I have a Norse team with about 12 games under its belt going into a second season so there is a reasonable amount of Block about. I currently have 4 Lineman on the team, 2 with Tackle, 1 with Kick and 1 yet to gain a new skill. They are between 5 and 9 SPP away from skilling up again and I am looking at choosing either Fend or Wrestle but was wondering what was best or whether I choose a mix of both. Fend does mean that it should free them up to move and assist elsewhere but Wrestle would seem a nice way of getting those BOB on the floor now they all have Block. Any thoughts would be most welcome.
The teams in my league are High Elves, Orc x 2, Skaven and Lzardmen with about 12 games each plus new Ogre and Dark Elf teams.

Atleast 3 with Fend to use on LOS.
Then mix in some wrestle to them.

Wrestle is a #2 skill on a Tackle guy. Fend is always happy.

I like wrestle but a mix of both is almost always better when it comes to all skill combos.S.

Agreed. Go half and half, see what works.

Think wrestle is TV bloat on a norse lineman, you're paying for an AV7 lineman, who gets cheap block, then skillup him with wrestle & you just got yourself an expensive lineman with AV7..
I'd look at Fend, Tackle, Dirty Player, Kick first.

Got to agree with Carnis here. I've yet to play with Norse, but Block and Wrestle overlap too much to justify the extra TV. Dirty Player, Dauntless, Fend and Tackle offer much better value. Having multiple DP's is a great thing. Actually I think that Strip Ball, Pass Block and Sure Hands would also be better than Wrestle. You have enough Frenzy to hit those pesky Blodgers with to have any need for the Tackle and Wrestle combo.

I'd say Norse should be looking at one Wrestle in the whole team, for the reasons listed above. A scattering of Fend, Dauntless, Strip Ball etc are much more valuable. I wouldn't be afraid of getting a few Tacklers too. Once an Elf team gets blodge on a few players it can start beating up on you and scoring - unless you can scare them with Tackle.

While Norse are one of the abomination teams (ubiquitous Block?! Who the Nuffle came up with THAT?!!! ), Carnis gives very sage advice... as does Ullis, et al....
Teams that have a hard time handling you will resort to fouling.... Fend makes that a little harder, while wrestle may actually encourage it....

Digger, just out of interest, what teams aren't abominations!? I'm sure I've seen posts where you've said all the elves are, dwarves are and now Norse...

Nah... stinkers... not just Necros....
About half the BB teams are hardly good for the game... here, and to stay, but... *sigh*....
Keep:
Chaos
Chaos Pact (only one freak on there is manageable... w/o Ag+....)
Goblin (and buff them to 1.5)
Halfling (and buff them to 1.5)
Human
Necromantic
Ogre (and buff them to 1.5)
Orc (but strip them of Goblins and cut blitzers and black orcs to 2 each)
Skaven (cut GRs to 2 and/or reduce speed... maybe not....)
Underworld (buff... maybe?)
Vampire (and buff them to 1.5)
Put to sleep:
Amazons--- All dodge and a blitzer with blodge...
Chaos Dwarf--- Blacklers and high armor on the ones that count....
Dark Elf---
Dwarf---
Elf---
High Elf---
Khemri---
Lizardman--- St4/5+Mv6?! Skinks +1Ag from broken....
Norse--- ubiquitous block-heads...
Nurgle--- shutdown cheese...
Slann--- *croak* Leap is most abusive skill...
Undead--- Mummies overpowered... maybe keep if BH and only 2 ghouls)
Wood Elf---

The Cheesiest!
If you HAVE TO have an elf team... go pro and drop starting Ag to 3.... If you have to have a dwarf team.... Hmmmm, cheese-us!... don't know how to fix that crud.... Drop armor (and on Orcs too), block and tackle... and/or hobgoblin types for linemen... or some such.... OR, use Chaos Dwarf stats after degrading dwarf armor and eliminating the ponies...?
Since you asked....
and... folks...
it's
strictly explanatory opinion... has no relevance to the game... and will NEVER stand an amazon's chance in a dwarven cage of being canon... so forget the flames....
