Hey,
I started up a Dark Elf team in my league and I'm having quite a lot of fun with it. Got three games with them now, two strong victories and a 1-7 loss. :p
Anyway. My initial roster was 3 Blitzers, 1 Witch Elf, 7 Lineelves, 2 Rerolls. I've reached the stage where I got enough funds to buy some more players. So far, my only purchase has been to replace a -MA Lineelf with a fourth Blitzer, but now I got to expand the squad.
Which leads me to wonder, which players are worth investing in? What kind of roster should I aim at having? The basic Lineelf is just so good, I'm not entirely convinced it's cost effective to replace two of them with Runners, or Assassins.
Right now, I'm probably aiming for something like:
2 Witch Elves
4 Blitzers
6 Lineelves
1 Runner
1 Assassin
... Or should I eventually start retiring Lineelves to get more Runners or Assassins?
And a little bonus question. I really like the Witch Elf so far, and I'm glad I opted to start with one right away. Since they start with Jump Up, do you think Wrestle would be a good idea on one? Block means she does more damage, but most stuff worth blocking ends up with Block itself anyway.
And in case I roll a double, what are the statistics on Mighty Blow and Pile On, as in, which one has the most chance of getting an injury on itself? And I know Juggernaut is a good choice too but there's just not a lot of Fend or Stand Firm going around in the league.
Ideal eventual Dark Elf roster, plus Witch Elf question

Thats a Nice team, You're right to question the use of Runners + Assasins over the linemen.
Runners are useful - and I would take 1 - but seriously think about the second. The Assasin just frustrates me - I take one in friendly games. but would never ever put that pile of crap player into a meaningful game
(Rant over - some like 'em
)
Concentrate on getting the 2nd WE before anything else. Wrestle - yeah you would think with JU would be a good combo. If you are to do it I would suggest it on the second WE - so you'll be fancy more developed teams with a lot more block - so the Wrestle has more chance to shine.
However be aware that most likely she'll never get a chance to use that JU, because as soon as a WE is on the ground you know there's a foul not far behind!
There's stats for MB / PO around here somewhere - but can't find em - i'm 90% sure though the MB is the better skill, get PO after MB - but not before.
Good Luck - DE's are soooo much fun - except for the Ass

MB before PO
personally I'd get another reroll as your next purchase (though you didn't mention an apothecary that is the first purchase on any team that didn't start with one)
My darkelf team was 4 blitzers 2 witches 6 linos 1 runner 1 assassin
started with 4 blitzers 6 line 1 runner 2rr
Assasin can be useful mine is very hit and miss, gets better if you ever get any skills on them (not that I managed that in the few games I had one) league finished now
if you do a search there was a really long thread on dark elves, i'd give that a read

I'm a rookie DE coach, and I've been considering a second Runner. Since they get Passing skill access, which includes NoS, why not build one into a Thrower type:
Dump-off+Pass, Accurate, etc.
and another one as a catcher/scorer that gets the useful NoS on a normal skill roll:
Dump-Off+NoS, then Dodge, Block, SS...
Has anyone experimented with this? Or is NoS as useful on a catcher as I think? (I haven't played Pro Elves.)

I buildt my runner as a 5th blitzer
took dodge first skill (reroll light early on)
then block (he always seemed to be the player scoring depite my attempts to spread it out, again due to being reroll light and him having dodge) took it for protection and cause he had dodge was the safest one to dodge out to go hit ppl as well
then tackle, see above and I was tackle light in the league with a fair few teams that had dodge players coming up in the next few games
I had a rather low number of completions on my team ;]
