goblin builds

when we start a new league i am planning to go for goblins and i have looked around for all sorts of gobling builds
these looked the most suitable
what are your opinions about them?
and do you have another build that (might) work well
build 1:
9 goblins 360
2 trolls 220
1 bombardier 40
1 chainsaw 40
1 fantatic 70
1 poogoer 70
3 rerolls 180
20 banked
build 2
8 goblins 320
2 trolls 220
1 bombardier 40
1 chainsaw 40
1 fantatic 70
1 poogoer 70
3 rerolls 180
60 banked
this gives you 1 bribe
build 3
8 goblins 320
2 trolls 220
1 bombardier 40
1 chainsaw 40
1 fantatic 70
2 rerolls 120
190 banked
this gives you 3 bribes but only 10 players without secret weapon (also only 2 rerolls)
BUT seeing as you have 3 secret weapons and 3 bribes you can (probely not) field eleven players throughout the game
build 4 (this is an altarnative on build 3 (and probely better)
8 goblins 320
2 trolls 220
1 chainsaw 40
1 fantatic 70
2 rerolls 120
230 banked
this gives you 3 bribes and the bombardier SP but only 10 players without secret weapon
BUT seeing as you have 3 secret weapons and 3 bribes you can (probely not) field eleven players throughout the game
build 5 (alternative on build 3 to get the 3 rerolls)
8 goblins 320
2 trolls 220
1 chainsaw 40
1 fantatic 70
3 rerolls 120
170 banked
this gives you 3 bribes but only 10 players without secret weapon
BUT seeing as you have 2 secret weapons and 3 bribes you can (probely not) field eleven players throughout the game
build 6
9 goblins 360
2 trolls 220
1 chainsaw 40
5 rerolls 300
70 banked
this gives you 1 bribe to keep the chainsaw on 1 more drive
this build primairly focuses on getting lots of rerolls and then dont spend anymore to let the inducements build up
build 7
11 goblins 440
1 bombardier 40
1 chainsaw 40
1 fanatic 70
3 rerolls 180
230 banked
this gives you 3 bribes NO TROLLS (are you mad) and the fanatic SP
now you have 4 secret weapons and 3 bribes wait until you recieve the ball then but up your 2 fanatics
bribe them back put them up again and hope there are some players gone
then put up the chainsaw and bomb and bribe the chainsaw back
then put up the chainsaw whenever you feel like it
this hopefully compensates the lack of trolls (though i have not tested it)
build 8 (go all out)
10 goblins 400
1 bombardier 40
1 chainsaw 40
1 fanatic 70
1 rerolls 60
350banked
take 3 bribes and the chainsaw and fanatic SP
nothing serious about this one just have fun and save the reroll for when the chainsaw rolls a 1
i was kinda going for build 3,4 or 5 depending on what i will do with the bombardier
if you have any tips or builds to add
please do

What does the rest of the league look like? If you're expected to play a developed team right away, you can rely more on inducements for the bribes, etc.
(EDIT - I see you're in a new league. )
Here's the fun build suggested by Chance (SunDevil on here) from Thee Die Block (see sig)
All Four SWs
Two Trolls
8 Goblins
4 RRs
=1Mil
So that's basically build 2 without the bribe. Now, you may want to hold out for a bribe in your first game, but if you did that, I would buy the reroll and hold off on a fanatic or pogoer because the rerolls will double in price, but the SWs won't. The goblins really do need RRs and they are somewhat expensive to buy when you're replacing goblins all the time!
I think it maximizes the fun of the SWs which is one of the main reasons to play goblins. Sure, they aren't all great and you could easily avoid taking one or more, but why? They're goblins! They're all about the crazy contraptions!

From the topic towards the bottom of the first page of posts:
viewtopic.php?f=25&t=29139&start=0
are these two:
2 Trolls
Looney
Fanatic
10 Goblins
4 rerolls
30k banked (or the pogo if you like him, I don't).
and
220 2 Trolls
360 9 Goblins
120 2 Rerolls
20 2 FF
280 Bank
Gives you the inducements you require to get Riper for the first game.
As your opponent TV increase, I'd get a rostered Looney, Pogoer (assuming LRB6) & Fanatic. PLus a reroll and apoth.
If you can start your league games against someone who has already played and has a TV or 103 or higher, spend some mone and FF on getting a 3rd reroll
IMO all your rosters have too many SWs an risk being very short of players very quickly.

I look at it this way (and I'm probably wrong) - with goblins, you're likely to be short on players very quickly no matter what. Might as well have fun with the SWs!
At least the Pogoer isn't a SW anymore. He can also turn into your ball carrier with leap and a 7 movement.

PubBowler knows his stuff when it comes to Gobbos. Were I do play them myself I'd definitely go the route of making sure to induce Ripper as a bare minimum, makes a big difference to early gobbos. May get to induce a SWs as well before you buy them if the TV difference gets a bit higher. Last two times times I've played against the 3 Trolls (admittedly with rookie Chaos against experienced coaches) it hasn't been a field day. I'd much rather face a SW heavy build with no Ripper and fewer gobbos than the alternative.

both builds look good but the first one doesnt have any bribes and mabey its just me but if i see very cheap bribes then isnt that 1 of the reasons you take a goblin team
as for the second could you explain the tactics you use with 3 trolls like set up for defence and offense and some examples for the first turn (of this drive)

I'm playing Gobbos in a league right now and, even with 16 players, I am often short on Goblins. I've only played three games and two got killed already! Well, one got killed and one got eaten!
But the Bribes help a lot with that. Plus, I think the mayhem and pitch chaos the SWs cause make up for them possibly leaving you short on players. I think it will help make you a better Gobbo coach trying to maximize the time you actually get to use the SWs.
Of course, like MeatLoaf said, you will almost always end up short on players when playing Goblins because...well, they're Goblins!
We don't use Star Players locally so I can't give my opinion on that. Except that I sort of wish we had a local exception for Goblins!

how is your team doing in the league (and what was your starting build ?)

If I were going for an open perpetual league, I might prioritize having 3 RRs and adequate rostered SWs over Ripper, just 'cause I could game to play underdog. In that case, I'd probably go for 13 or 15 players, with 9 or 11 Gobs, 2 Trolls, a Looney and a Fanatic: that leaves 230k-310k. 3 TRRs and you're at 870-950k total value, for one Bribe and 15 guys against a rookie team, or Ripper and 14 against a team with TV 1.14M.

You'll have access to bribes soon enough as other teams advance faster than you do.
And they're only really useful if you have enough players to avoid having to put a SW on for 1 turn at the end of a half.

With a starting team, three tolls bunched together on the LOS is going to be hard thing to cause damage to for most sides.
After that a key gobbo tactic is not giving any blocks away, leaving your opponent with only a Blitz to hurt you.
Talking of blitzs, Ripper is your go to guy for this and TTM.
Just remember to always give him an assist for the 3D hit.

would it be wise to put 1 goblin behind ripper (when recieving)
picking up the ball with anohther goblin and handing it off to the goblin behind ripper then let ripper throw him for a 1 turn score
or just try to bash your way with the 3 trolls

1-2 after three games.
- Beat a new Orc team 2-1 in OT. Killed a BOB with a Foul and knocked another out for 2 games. Held 2 SWs (Saw and BC) out for 2nd half to save them for OT and the gamble worked. Did get my Blodging Pogoer killed by a Lightning Bolt but Apoth saved him. (He got Block from a preseason tourney) Rolled doubles on a Troll afterwards - Block!
- Lost to Amazons 4-0 and suffered 8 casualties, but only 1 Goblin death. Also had a Goblin eaten! Lots of failed rolls left Goblins in bad spots and the game just snowballed. He killed BOTH my Trolls but the Apoth saved the Blocker. Regen failed the second.

Rolled a Move Boost on a Gobbo.
- Lost to Vampires 6-0 and got out-Casualtied but only 2-4. Killed a Vamp with the Chainsaw (!) but Apoth made it a Miss. Rolled doubles on my Fanatic after - Block!
Next game is against Season 2 Chaos Pact and I'm down 4 Gobbos (2 still dead and two missing). I have the inducements to buy 3 bribes and 2 merc Gobs while I save $$$ for another reroll.
My build was all 4 SW, 2 Trolls, 8 Goblins, 3 RR, Apoth, 10K in bank but if I could do it over again, I'd trade in the Apoth and 10K for a 4th reroll. I almost had that 4th reroll bought - then Zons killed both my Trolls.
Having a great time with Goblins - record be darned!

I'd probably go either
10 Goblins, 2 Trolls, Fanatic, Looney, Bombadier and 3 RR, with 50k spare or just take 11 goblins and have 10k spare.
I wouldn't bother trying for inducements too much from the beginning as you'll soon be overtaken by regular teams anyway.

DoubleSkulls - what's wrong with the Pogoer?

its just that the poogoer is harder to replace then a normal goblin and he only has 1 extra movement
also with agi 3 iam not very sure about leap
also its a different model then the other goblins so he will be attacked more often (out of instinct)
