How many gobbos to use on an underworld team ...

Post by Tim »

I'm currently building models for an underworld team and i'm asking myself if 7 gobbos are sufficent. This would limit me to 14 Players (+6 Skaven, Troll) and keeps 2 roster spots open for induced starplayers, e.g. Nobbla and Fezglitch as the cheapest option?

Or would be better to add an 8th gobbo for 40k and aim for one starplayer (maybe a more expensive one) and spend any excess inducement money on non-rostered options (Babes, Bribes, Apothecaries, Wizard)?

Tough call. Underworld take a lot of casualties, so if you find yourself the overdog 14 could leave you in trouble. But you also have loads of relatively cheap star player options. It might be worthwhile aiming for 15, since you'll often be missing at least one player to injury, and so will still have room for 2 stars. If you have 14 players but 1/2 miss the game and then you are the overdog ... that means trouble.

But for modelling purposes ... make loads! :D I made way too many to model all the mutations.

Modelling is not the big problem, but when it comes to painting ... the less models the better ;)

A couple spare for injuries is probably a sart idea, even if journeymen are going to be rarely taken.

I currently got 14 players on my squad and I was able to field 11 all the game during a bashy game against Necro team. A deep bench will help you since you are also going to loose skavens to injury.

Kick off return was my idea :)
