3rd Skill on Pact Ogre

3rd Skill on Pact Ogre
My Chaos Pact ogre has just received his 3rd upgrade, and has never rolled doubles. So far, he has Guard and Stand Firm. The team is not incredibly well developed (as a handicap, and to get use of my mutated models, I have given most of the marauders a mutation or something else "fun" before block), and tends to get bogged down at midfield a great deal. At first I was thinking about giving him Break Tackle to improve mobility, but now am considering Grab or Multiple Block to try and clear out more room in front of him.
I have also considered retiring him and starting another in the hopes of rolling doubles. My team has a load of money and hasn't quite hit the spiralling expenses threshold, so while he'd be missed, this would be the time to do it.
For reference, the rest of the team includes:
troll with Guard
mino with Juggernaut
DE with AG5, Horns, Dodge
skaven w/nothing
gobbo w/nothing
marauder w/ AG4, Accurate, Dodge
marauder w/AG4, Block
marauder w/Claw
marauder w/MB, Jump Up
marauder w/Foul Appearance
marauder w/Guard
2 marauders w/nothing

you have a failry balanced team that would make me plump for GRAB, you either need to feed his prey to the claw/Block guys or clear the way for the AG4/5 guys.... Grab works for me

I'll cast a vote for Piling on once more. No synergy with guard/SF, but -> more casualties (especially late on the first round, or in situations where the ogre won't be needed later into the round). Also more freedom for the ogre, people won't be as willing to tag him given his MB/PO.
Sacking is a good bet as well, but I would look at getting more block/guard before doing that.

Sack him and start over to try for Block.
I chose this only because you mentioned you had the money for it and your team is developing nicely elsewhere. Shave 4 points of TV and you won't miss an Ogre for any games because you can rebuy one immediately? Yes please!

If you don't sack him and start over, stick my vote in with Break Tackle. I like mobile Ogres. They're very menacing.

I am coming up on this same situation with my own Chaos Pact Team. I have been thinking about taking strong arm on him, just to make the throw team play more reliable. Starting over is probably the best bet really though. If I dont cut/rebuy him and I dont experiment with strong arm, I would probably do break tackle on the ogre and grab on the troll personally.

Sack him, you have the cash, and the new Ogre's usefulness will only decrease a small amount until you can regain Guard (Feed him those CAS!).

Agree- if you are not well experienced with this skill it is a great one to try out.Thadrin wrote:Grab.
