230K of inducements Norse Vs Orcs...
As the title says I'm about to play my 3 game Norse team against a 5/6 game Orc team who had a conceed against him too, so he's 14 strong with 4 guard peices including a Troll.
I only have 12 guys on my team and no snow troll so what inducements should I take. I'm thinking a troll with mighty blow might be good as a can-opener but would I be better with a wizard and a card? Or something Else, special play cards are allowed in my league.

First take Boomer. It's a high risk investment with a chance to pay of very well if you manage to throw a well placed bomb on the first turn of a drive where you're receiving (and starplayers are the most fun kind of inducement and should always be taken if you can afford them
)
After that take one wandering apo and an extra re-roll (unless you already have four re-rolls, in which case I would take two 50k cards or a second wandering apo and one 50k card).

Wizard + boomer?
If they form a cage blow it up.
Target his Throwers. Any blitz you have try and remove a thrower.
A thrower out is bye bye 2 rerolls.

Boomer a apoc and a re-roll is 260, so I can't afford that. I currently have 3 re-rolls so the extra one is tempting but my 12 man team against his 14 man makes me a little nervous about loosing the attrition war, especially as my armour is so much lower than his.duckwing wrote:First take Boomer. Wizard + Boomer does look pretty tempting...

Why is Helmut Wulf not on the list?
a bit of whir-buzz-chop-thunk to rattle the loose teeth of the greenskins....
I would advocate him, Boomer and a babe. or Him and a bribe

I've edited the list to include him so feel free to change your votes...voyagers_uk wrote:Why is Helmut Wulf not on the list?

I'm not sure a chainsaw is great against an AV 9 team though. I'd get similar odds of hurting an Orc if a Snow troll knocked them down (better if the troll had MB). And the troll gets to play for the whole match (barring injury etc.)

The Troll forces you to use your blitz to have consistency of use though (still my favourite Big Guy) whereas the Chainsaw means those Orcs are AV6

Ugly situation.
I voted troll as it gives you some vital numbers and something that can in theory do some real damage or at least serve to hold back the orc onslaught.
Boomer is higher risk, but a way to open up a cage,
note that you can throw to empty squares.
However trolls are tricky to use. I'd practice if you aren't experienced.

@voyagers_uk
Quite often you'll have to blitz to get the most out of a chainsaw too, and they still ahve a 1/6 of hitting themselves which is comparable to wild animal. Also the Troll is more likely to stick around (not only will Wulf get sent off, he has an effective AV of 5!)
@sunnyside
Unfortunately the match is tonight, so no troll practice for me.
I think it's either going to be Boomer & Troll or Boomer & Wizard...

I voted for boomer against a team that is slow and cages, and snow troll to negate the high armour.
Kick to start the game so he crowds together then throw bombs in. Knock down some guards and claw others.
When your using boomer dont stand just behind your own front line and then fumble the bomb like I did.

If you take the Snow Troll, that leaves you 60k, which could be either a Babe, or Mighty Blow for the Troll. Or Boomer....

What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.

In that case both star players, a bribe and a 50k card.
Bring on Boomer and blow them up.
Eventually someone will score and Boomer will be sent off - boo
The bring out Helmet and choppy choppy, note if he is sent off, bribe haha he's back on choppy choppy.
50k trick, use wisely, note if it is a card that affects the game, wait until all star players are off before playing it, just so you can get the edge on that drive too.
Try and stand a lineman within TD distance of the endzone.
Depending on the play, just throw the ball at him! Even if it goes all pair shaped the slow orks will have to go back and get the ball and do it again.

@Smurf
I could aford the 2 stars and a card (220K total), but not a bribe as well.
I think the Troll is more likely to benifit me than the chainsaw guy though as having a strong AV 8 piece on the line (an an extra reserve) should help me keep up in the attrition race...
