Skaven Progression

Post by Master Wang »

I'm a little out of my depth at higher TV levels and am pretty unsure what to take. I've had a look at threads on Skaven, but of course none are like my situation. This is the team (some of you have met them from other threads):

1 Blitzer Guard 11
2 Blitzer Guard 15
3 Runner Block, Side Step 18
4 Runner Block, Side Step 36*
5 Runner Block, Big Hand 31*
6 Runner Block, +1 Ma 16
7 Lineman
8 Lineman Kick 10
9 Lineman
10 Lineman
11 Rat Ogre 8*
12 Lineman
13 Thrower

3 Re-rolls
Apothecary
80k

The two runners and the rat ogre all got normal skills, so I am wondering what to take. I'm thinking Juggernaut on the big guy as if I don't Blitz with him he will take an age to get more skills, but Guard would be nice to give my linerats a leg up. For the runners, I'm less sure. What would complement their current skills best? Also, should I take tackle on one of them or make that the next skill on which ever blitzer goes up next?

Also, I know I need to skill the linerats, but that would entail attempting risky things that leave drives go on too long in the case of defense. On offense, maybe I can do it if I'm up by a few. But the Blitzers are getting attention there at the moment.

Fend is really good on Blodgers who you want to get into open space...

I'd also be tempted with diving catch on Runner 4.

I think Guard sounds good on the RO

I agree.
And when #3 skills up I think he should take diving tackle as well.
Too bad you went block on all 4 gutters as Skaven in my experience really need at least 1 Wrestle/Strip Ball gutter.

Very True, I'd've recommended wrestle on any of the runners if they didn't all already have block...

Thanks for the quick replies.

I had a Wrestle runner who died. His replacement got the +MA and Block was what was recommended. It is annoying as I wanted a Wrestle/Tackle/Dauntless runner. Still, one will die sooner or later.

To be honest, I was expecting Diving Tackle to be top of the recommendations, thanks for confirming.

I'm coming to hate Leap (from playing with Slann) so will probably go Side Step on the Big Hand guy.

Will wait and see if any other answers come.

I might take Fend if some live to see a few more skill ups. Piling On is a bitch and if I could get some Fend linerats, it would screw with my opponents even more.
