Chaos Pact Darkelf 1 skill

Post by Xtreme »

So I have all of my chaos pact roster set except for one player. I can't decide what to give my Dark elf, because of the tourney rules he will get 1 normal skill.

I'm trying to decide between,
Block-boring but very useful
Claws-I have the 3 big guys, but more damage couldn't hurt, my concern here is not having block first.
Surehands, or dodge-To make him my secondary ball carrier, there will be a lot of stripball at the tourney.

I'm open to other suggestions as well.

how many rerolls you got?

you are likely to dodge more than pick it up, even with strip ball about and you can also just sit in a cage to protect against that

I went dodge first on my dark elf runner and it was great, presumably you are taking block on other players so you can hit with them

I normally think that would be enough to not worry about having sure hands, unless you perhaps know you are facing a strip ball wardancer

what makes you think there will be lots of strip ball, normally only see it taken by wardancers and gutter runners in tournaments over here and even then they don't always take it

Tournament rules give all teams either strip ball or sure hands, humanoid races get sure hands everyone else gets strip ball.

i would grab big hand, this will let you pick up the ball anywhere for a 2+ meaning that your opponent has to attempt to pick up the ball and can't just put tackle zones around it making him extremely useful

Odd rules, I'm sure humans would rather have strip ball seeing as they get sure hands anyway

a lot of elves with strip ball about then, though they will also probably give it to a player with block

sure hands will save you rerolls for the pick ups, though perhaps you can stop the strip ball player getting to the ball carrier which will make dodge better

you will also probably dodge a lot, perhaps to get away from the strip baller to go pick the ball up again

if you are using him for blitzing than block would be handy, depends who you are blitzing with

swings and roundabouts, though I think I'd probably get dodge

Tournament rules are fluff based so they are a bit strange.

I'm probably going to be blitzing with the mino and skaven with horns/stripball most of the time. I also have some guard marauders to keep the ball safier so I think dodge may be the right route to go.

Dodge is safest, and with the low number of rerolls, I hesitate to say this but... leap! :D

I had a lot of fun breaking cages with my leaping Delf when I played Chaos Pact.

you have big guys to stick in front of the cage to not have to do that

also goblin with horns can do the same and has dodge to reroll the 3+ to get in the cage

still if you like leaping, who am I to stop you ;]

My big guys got tied down a lot. Probably an error in how I played, but they would often get a toy to play with while the rest of the team took off somewhere else.

The goblin with horns is probably the best for the tournament build, you are correct. On the league team, I found leap very fun and only the DElf can get Leap/SB/Wrestle/VLL on normal rolls. :)
