My Humans won the Chaos Cup, what 3 Mutations to choose

Post by Glorian Underhill »

Hi folks,

my experimental human team (doubleskull dsa humans) the "Dynamo Kislev"

won our local league Tournament, the Chaos Cup.

So I can now choose according to the rules 3 Mutaions, or Stab, or Hypnotic Gaze or.....

The list: http://www.bb.wobcheck.de/obblm/index.p ... team_id=68 is not aboslutely up to date as the AG 4 Catcher has dropped one movement in the finals. So he is 6347 Catch, Dodge, Block, Side Step, Tackle, at the moment.

So any idea what I should take?

One Stab Player might be fun. :)

as you have silly ST3 catchers and one has AG4, give him hyp gaze

opening big gaps is obv very useful for an AG3 team

no doubt someone will suggest claw on one of your MB blitzers...

Hypno gaze would be quite a good idea, as would claw/mighty blow. In fact, you really can't say no to that one.

For hilarity, I'd also be tempted by tentacles on an ogre, horns on a blitzer, disturbing presence on a catcher (combos brilliantly with pass block), or, my personal favourite:

Prehensile tail. Mix with Blodge/Sidestep/Stand Firm and add Diving Tackle.

Extra Arm on one of the Throwers for an - essentially - AG4 Sure hands piece when you receive?

Yeah, Extra Arms works on the catch, too, so you can run him as an ace back, like an elf Thrower (normally a Human team would use a Catcher there).

A horns, or Claw Blitzer was one of my first choices.

But what about Stab?

3 Stabbing Humans at the Line of Scrimmage could ruin everyones day. Ok, these are my local league colleagues, and I dont want to give em too much of a bad day.

Another usefull mutation is "Foul appearance" for my Starcatcher or one of the newbs as this skill is an affective block or blitz stoper of 16%. Sure the opponent can reroll, but it is more efective than block or Dodge, can't be canceled and it is only one dice to roll, not two like a usual block.

For three-up combo value, there's also Disturbing Presence.

If you are allowed to choose which players get mutations, then Claw, Claw, Hypno-Gaze would be hard to beat (Claw on the M-Blow Blitzers, H-Gaze on the AG4 Catcher).

However, I thought you had to roll randomly to see which players get the Chaos Cup mutations?

All the best.

Its up to the league commisioner really. In my league, its D3 random mutations on random players.

I'm hoping for a Troll with very long legs myself :)

As we read the rule in our League, it's pretty clear the mututions have to go to randomly chosen players. However, once the players are randomly chosen, you can take whatever Mutation, etc. you want. Allowing the coach to choose which player gets the mutation seems at odds with the spirit and letter of the rule. You should clarify this with your League's commissioner.

Just went to your Roster - 7 3 3 7 Catchers on a Human team - shouldn't they be 8 2 3 7? I take it you aren't playing LRB6.
