Hi all.
I am starting up a Chaos Pact team and I want all 3 big guys to start. I know there have been a lot of previous posts on the subject, but I am uncertain on what else to take to start so thought I would ask for some advice.
Like I said, I definitely want all 3 BG's to start, and I had thought about taking the Dark Elf, 7 Marauders, 2 re-rolls and F/F 4. I know that people consider 2 re-rolls to be very risky but my Norse have made do with only 2 and I've been pretty lucky with them (although all that block has proably helped). I liked the idea of a load of Marauders as they have such a wide choice of skill choices the possibility to mould them into whatever I see fit is a tempting prospect. I like the AG4 of the D/Elf for obvious reasons. I had thought about losing the F/F to fund a Gobbo, but think he would just end up babysitting the troll which would essentially leave me with 10 useable players (although he would be handy to use as a foul machine, and someone has to keep an eye on the damn Troll so maybe a gobbo is better for that than wasting a marauder) and then I would have the all important 12th man.
Also, would swapping a Marauder for the Skaven be worth while? All the other posts I've read seem to be totally divided on the Rat. MA7 would be nice but for only 1 player to have it, i'm not sure how to use him.
Any help and advice is very much appreciated
Thanks a lot
James

All 3 Big Guys add up to 400k. Minimum numbers brings it to 800k. Take the Goblin in lieu of one Marauder, and that's 790k, without a Rat, with 3x TRR to bring it to 1M. Hire the Elf first, then an Apoth, then the Rat.
Alternative: take an Apoth and an Elf, and get Leader ASAP. This scares me, but if you're very conservative with skill choices you may pull it off.
Even better alternative: Exercise a little patience and pick up the Mino out of winnings.

What is Nuffle's view? Through a window, two-by-three. He peers through snake eyes.
What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.
What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.

Re: Chaos Pact Starting Roster
It's a tough good if you start with all three big guys. but if your hearts is set on it I would go with:
Troll
Mino
Ogre
Gobbo
Delf
6 marauders
2 Rerolls
Apothy
The dark elf can be used to pick up the ball to save rerolls and NEVER reroll anything a big guy does. It will eat up the rerolls you are already short on.
I will now echo Matt's comment and say "Drop the mino and apothy for a marauder and TWO more rerolls".

Re: Chaos Pact Starting Roster
in a tournament I recently played a jugernaut mino did all the hard work for chaos pact and won the tournament.
Sure there was a block Troll and Ogre but to be honnest their impact was nowhere close to the massive ST6 the Mino would provide due to the new horn rule.
After seeing this mayhem and watching chaos pact win the tournament I would not advise loosing the mino.

And we can find a whole bunch of folks on this forum who hate Minotaurs, your point is weak at best. I'm on my second season with my Pact and my Juggernaut Minotaur has zero casualties, you can certainly skip him till later. You aren't losing him after all, just saving money with half price rerolls.Greyhound wrote: After seeing this mayhem and watching chaos pact win the tournament I would not advise loosing the mino.

I like livin on the edge.
3 Big Guys
7 Marauders
Gobbo
3 Rerolls
Grab DElf asap, then apo (although these can be swapped in the case of something valuable to protect, i.e. Block/Pro big guy, +1ag or +1st marauder).
Get leader first on a marauder, and you should be solid on rerolls for quite a while. Aggression, and make them deal with the ST5 while you do your dirty work.
