Which Team Should I Play

Hi all,
I need to pick a new team for next season in the MBBL, and for once I'm stumped.
Quite frankly no team meets all my criteria, so I thought I'd turn to you guys :)

The situation
Bash/finesse ebbs and flows. Currently Bash has the upper hand, so mighty blow, claw and piling on are to be expected.
I won't play such a team, neither will I play the obvious answer (an elf side).
Seasons are fairly short. But I'll squeeze in a 4-game preseason. Then a 6 game season. If I like the team, then perhaps a 2nd 6 game season.
I'm a pretty competent coach, but I'll be starting from scratch - so I'm not that likely to do well against developed/established sides (TV200+). Certainly not until the potential 2nd season.

My preferences
A team that can handle Chaos would be nice.
A team that can handle bash reasonably well would be nice.
A team that can develop decent OTS, to counter the classic 15 turn stomp would also be nice.
I prefer playing teams that are in the lower half of the power hierarchy.
I can't get all of the above - obviously.

The candidates
Amazons - claw is no issue . But I've recently played amazons for 13 games.
Norse - claw is no issue . And I'd have a little myself. But they're fairly powerfil (IMO)
Undead - also an über-team - but supposedly they trail off at roughly the same point where Chaos becomes powerful. I'd love to try some leap ghouls to harrass opposing cages.
Pact - OTS potential. A fair bit of bash. But I've recently played ogres (16 games) and vampires (11 games). In those last 4 games my vamps failed 30% of their bloodlust rolls - so I'm fairly fed up with negaskills
Lizardmen - Lots of nice strength. Not too powerful(? - IMO). But the skinks are likely to take a hammering. OTS option should be possible to develop.

You're welcome to back up your vote with some ad-lib

10-16 games martin? well Undead would happily fill your needs with regen combatting claw...

Jump Up Mummies and leap Ghouls..

The Undead could be your Agility/Bash option.

Claw would be very nasty against lizards... If you can't retain skills on sauri, lizards suck. Against developed opponents they would also run into serious problems.

I think you can get something fun out of the pact and if you are worried (with good reason) about negatraits, then just skip one or more of the big guys. I would go for them or norse. Norse aren't too strong at higher TV or against developed teams.

What about Underworld? Claw is almost useless against them and you can get some claw yourself. Goblins have dodge and are so cheap you can have a ton of them. You can one-turn if you have to. Two-head goblins can ignore cages and whatnot. Plus, they are tier 2.

Of those, I'd go Lizardmen or Undead, and voted for the boys from Lustria. Lots of high strength as a roadblock can give you a life preserver for the grinding game you're used to, but the skinks are absolutely lightning and hide in the shadows of the Saurus really well.

You only really need to grind for a couple of turns before being able to score.

An 8 moving Skink with sprint and a +MA (which can certainly be done)... is lovely, too.

Hi Harry,
I've actually already played underworld for 19 games with quite a bit of success!

Thanks for your feedback.
I'll let this marinade a day or 2 before deciding :)

Humans or skaven.

Underworld are the obvious hybrid team but you say you have already been playing those. Halflings are also an option - halflings do almost as well against high TV teams as they do against low/mid TV teams.

Almost as well, or equally as badly? :D Flings are just great fun all round.

Dunno, man. My best team-race W/L rate is with Halflings.

halflings all the way, I'm starting one up as well. I think all of TFF should play halflings for their upcoming season :P

Been there, done that, scored 4 unanswered TDs in a second half to defeat some Skaven 4-2 ;) 'Flings teach you more about Blood Bowl than any other race!
