Double on Thro-Ra with ST 4

Post by habasta »

I don´t know what to take to my Thro-Ra for the double.
The other Thro-Ra has Block and Kick and 29 SSP ( One TD and another skill is coming ).
Anyone an idea?
I´m thinking of tackle ( Amazons and Elf Teams in our league ), It is no double.

Thanks

habasta

I was playing the Khemri like a running Team ( out of the cage ). And my Thro-Ra´s are for the TD´s.

Has to be Break Tackle.

The benefits are immense. First of all, a 2+ Dodge makes your offence much more reliable as the Thro-ra cannot be so easily bogged down. Second, he can actually dodge reliably and has a move of 6! That's incredibly important to a Khemri team as the one thing that the team sorely lacks is mobility. With Block he makes a very effective safety for the team. If you get a second double down the road, then take Dodge.

I really wanted to suggest Mighty Blow here, just so that the whole team hits that much harder. With ST4 and MiB, he can just smash anyone who bases him.

But that Break Tackle is nice as well, especially for that Turn 8 Khemri burst where the cage breaks open and the ballcarrier dashes the last 6 spaces to glory!

Or Dodge. ST4/Dodge is very hard to knock down.

But falling down when AG2 dodging is easy.

but makes him less manouverable than break tackle.

The strength 4 will be enough, you don't need dodge as well. To have a Str 4 ball carrier who can go where they want will be a great bonus.

Oh, you mean roll dice with him? No. He's AV7/140k. 2+ rolls to avoid falling down sound terribly desperate to me. But yeah, if you're trying to roll dice, take Break Tackle. That scares me. I'd rather just clear all the zones off and then move, and be nigh-uncrackable.

Well, I don't know which Khemri team you're talking about but if you've got two TZ's on the the thro-ra, you can easily end up in a situation where you cannot advance because you have to block with the thro-ra himself to clear on the zones. A khemri team can very easily get badly outnumbered, especially locally, due to AV7 and low movement on the skeletons. It's a frigging long way from one end of the pitch to the other, especially if you have to cage in your own half. And that's just offence.

On defence it's often laughably easy to mark every khemri from the front, again locally as your players are slow, and run a player behind them. And then what are your options? To dodge and blitz with an ag3 player for 1-d? Dodging out an assist first is impossibly desperate and bringing someone up from the other side of the pitch means GFI's at best? And "good positioning means you're never looking at this situation" isn't a very good answer because it happens, especially when you're down players.

Stupid wardancers.

Just for discussions sake, what did you pick? And did you have time to use it? Did you pick Break Tackle and the wardancer killed the thro-ra on a "Defender Stumbles" result so Dodge would've meant he would still be shambling around?

Sorry, i forgot to write this.
I took Break Tackle. No Chance to use this. If the Thro-Ra got Block he will be still alive.
Regeneration don´t work with my dices. shit.

War dancers are good... in this case not good for you.

Did you get any inducements. If there was enough I would have got the stabber and stab wardancers.
