what to take

Post by Havok »

I've rolled 5,5 for a bull centaur's second skill, he has block already. I personally hate this roll, due to the amount of options you have...

so I poll TFF... what do I take...?

Depends on the style, of course. Personally, I wouldn't mind another MA on the bull centaur, or side step. MA to get him in position even further along the line, and side step to keep him where you want him, which makes it easier to mark up ballcarriers and such.

I would take +1MA every time. I have 2 MA7 Bulls on my current CD team...

The problem is caused by taking Block as the first skill. If you take Break Tackle first, +1MA works better.

All the best.

[Edit: My bad, I misread the original post. Dodge is probably the best choice on a 5,5 although +1MA is tempting. I give Break Tackle to Bulls as their first normal skill, this combines wiell with either choice.]

Side Step! ST4/Block/SS is disturbingly good. Break Tackle next, because he'll usually be able to BT on a 2+, due to Side Step.

Dodge is another good option. ST4/Tackle and Dauntless/Tackle are both rare.

The Norse player in me says take dodge. Works well if you want to use the BC as a ball carrier, combos well with break tackle and stand firm, and keeps a high quality piece alive, because the sort of positionals that tend to match up with S4 tend to lack tackle.

However unlike Norse players you've got AV9 on that thing and can afford to take a hit (making side step more appealing since you don't have to be so worried about going down as a result).

Still, MB/PO/Claw spam is popular in most leagues, and it's hard for those sort of pieces to add tackle into the mix.

+1.

Thank about it this way: he's a ST4 player who only falls 1/6 times even when most opponents get 1 assist. 8)

Sidestep.

Cause then you take Frenzy next and this guy is a terror of the sidelines. You won't need the TO friendly Minotaur and can keep an extra hobgoblin on the pitch for emergency ball handling...

all good things for CD imo

Work this guy into your best blitzer you can, have the other chap do the ballhandling thing. (catch on doubles for him)
