Skaven Cash Question

After 10 games this team is looking pretty healthy, though I'm sure it's only a game away from disaster. Apart from the kicker, the linemen have refused to skill, and I'm quite happy with that. The blitzers, rat ogre and gutter runners have being giving my opponents enough headaches. Here's the team:

I've managed to save some cash, but am not sure what to do with it. The team has stayed pretty slim, and I get good value for my TV at the moment. But, I know a deeper bench might be necessary whenever I next play a true bash team; so far the rat ogre and turning opponents over have kept the number of times I've got into a brawl to a minimum. My other thoughts were that 3 re-rolls may be a little light given the nature of Skaven defense, but with lots of Dodge and a Big Hand player, I don't burn through re-rolls as fast as might be expected.

Anyway, will see what people say.

I ran with 14 players on my skaven team for a long time, but after constantly getting beat up, I decided to try 15 rats and it made a huge difference, so I voted get two more linerats. With 15 players, I was actually able to field 11 players at the second have some times! I tried a full team of 16 players for a few games, but that seemed like overkill so when #16 got killed I didn't replace him.

As for rerolls, I noticed that I didn't use as many with my skaven team as I did with others. I think one reason is that they are so fast that you don't need to go for it as often and also they are so weak that you don't throw as many blocks with them as you would, say, a dwarf or orc team so you're not rolling skulls as much. Roll with three for a while and you can add another later if you feel like you need to or maybe put leader on your thrower for a cheaper reroll. Skaven are team you want a lower TV with so you get inducements instead of giving them up. You don't want your opponents getting chainsaws and wizards and stabbers and such.

Also, I tried two throwers for a while, but I didn't like it. I didn't see the point of having two and there were times were I had to put one on the line of scrimmage because I was low on linerats. When my second one got killed, I didn't even bother to use my apothecary and just got a linerat to replace him. The more linerats, the better. Hell, you don't even really need one, but I liked having one to pick up the kick offs and get the ball to a gutter runner.

I went for an extra reroll, but thinking about it, just getting a thrower to have Leader might be better.

I like throwers on a skaven team, a bit of a bargin imo. Basically linemen with sure hands for when you want to play bash against leapy strip-baller type teams and then pass effectivly for free. If you have to use one as a linerat proxy on the LOS, then no problems, they are only 20k more.

When you've got rerolls, grunners are often the better bet as the ball handlers, but if/when you've run out and need a quick score at the end of a half, those built in rerolls can be invaluable.

+1.

I like Throwers on teams with great "catcher" positionals, like Skaven and Wood Elfs. I consider them nothing but a Linemen with one/two great skills (sure hands is always a good thing to have floating around, not just for kick offs) with access to Passing skills. Take a Leader and you're getting a lower TV re-roll on the roster.

My current WE team has a Pass/Leader/Block Thrower and I play him like a Lineelf for all intents and purposes....

Team seemed fine to me, I would save the money to replace players when you get the inevitable injuries.
