Not the worst injury for this piece, but he will have to rely almost 100% on CAS spps, and it makes blocking with JU too risky. I have the money to replace him, though it means I'll have to hold off on the first runner which I've finally decided I do want on this team.

Can him, but maybe not immediately. AG2 and Jump Up is not a happy combo, and skill-ability is critical on this kind of piece. You'd be justified in getting a Runner first, if you like; he's better than 1.8 Journeymen, not least because you can field him in a game with Reserves, without taking a Star or Merc. Put him on the D-line so you can focus on your other guys; if he steals an MVP or gets two Cas in this time, get him Guard, and keep him until you've filled out your team.
Putting this guy on the LOS gives you more opportunities to distribute SPP to your Linos and Ulfs. If the Kicker or a Lino with doubles gets this guy's points until you hire his replacement, it's worth it. I think Norse teams benefit from more than one skill on about two linos: a kicker, and a guy with some other stuff.

I agree, firing players is something that you should do only as a last resort with AV7 unless it's a -ST. You only have 12 players and 150k in treasury, I'd contemplate firing him only once I had a full team and lots of cash. I don't know whether you plan to get a thrower and runners but even if you don't you can buy a couple of linemen first.
If you don't like him just put him on the LOS and send him to contact to put tackle zones on the ball carrier / on the cage corner, he'll die sooner or later.

My answer depends on how long the team intends to play for (open schedule [and if open, how are matches arranged?] or a fixed league), and what sort of TV you're likely to be facing, none of which I can tell from there (I'm probably being blind!).

It's an open, perpetual league. Matches are arranged in the chat room. The teams used can be randomized, though I generally set up matches of an even TV level. However, I will play as underdog or over-dog if challenged to do so, unless the challenge were ridiculous in some way.
So far, I think I'll go with what people have said. I'll look to replace him after I've bought a catcher (or two) and developed a few more players.
Thanks for the advice.
