Looking for amazon help and resources

In my thread questioning dwarves joemanji recommended giving amazons a swing. So for the next league I am considering amazons or lizardmen, unfortunatly once again it seems no ones taken the time to scribble down a amazon playbook for the current edition of BB.
The league is 1.1 starting and I was considering max positionals, and a total of 12 players, 4 re-rolls and an apothecary.
As far as skills go I was thinking guard on the blitzers, building the rest up into blitzers and taking MA over AV up on all pieces and any ST and AG ups that grace my rolls. Though I have no other idea except sidestep on doubles and maybe kick and leader.
Any ideas, I am probably loco as I have never watched amazons play before and have no idea.
Playstyle is the thing I need most help on though.

They are the ultimate cookiecutters :/. Just spam blodge/Guard and you'll be on the right track ;P.

Now I am acknowledged to be rubbish but cannot fault your starting rosta. for development I think you are right to go the way you are
BUT
It will be pretty dull. What I am doing is
Blitzers 2x guard then SF then MB etc
2x MB Tackle Dauntless Guard (possibly some frenzy and strip ball in here but they will be dead by then) Doubles get ss
Catchers go Block, sidestep sure feet sprint doubles get NOS and then guard
Throwers get surehands, then one gets KOR Kick and the other gets Accurate and NOS (doubles strong arm, then guard)
linos go Wrestle then maybe fend on three and the rest go block fend (doubles always guard). with a developed team and a new lino with a double I MIGHT go the dedicated fouler route, but probably not.
Whatever you do you will die like flies. For inducements buy babes, and apothecaries. 4 rr should always be enough particularly when you have got going. AVOID dwarves. Others will tell you why my development plan is crap but I feel that you will have enough blodge and need to cover the other aspects of the game (little things like collecting the ball.)

I don't know the location but I thought Plasmoid had guides on most teams?
Amazon's are a solid team, I take guard on blitzers and on doubles for other players, but after that it is down to you.
As they all have dodge, I don't find that they die faster than most teams.
All my teams tend to be based on the run rather than passing game, and again dodge can be pretty helpful here!

Unfortunatly amazons is one of the few teams not covered in plasmoids collection of great playbooks.
Have to agree on the defensive skill survival rate. Especcialy because as I advance the guard will reduce the potency of opponents dice rolls.

Gee thanks coach (say it in a overexcited peewee football kids voice), I do browse your fandidaly tastic sight often but the amazon discussion did seem a bit bare bone. Not to say it wasn't insightfull.

I like that article, Coach! I'm not keen on your Thrower article, though. I think I may get better use of my Throwers than that.
Here's my progression system:
Linewomen: The first skill on all but one of the Linewomen is Wrestle, unless the player has something unusual (anything) on the first roll, in which case I take Block on the second skill instead. #2 G-skill progression (after Wrestle) is Kick, Frenzy, (Fend and Tackle to match format), with maybe a Dauntless somewhere. Doubles on the first roll is Guard. After Wrestle, +MA or +ST, I may consider Side Step instead. Those are my only two doubles considerations. 10 is MA always on 6+4, and maybe late on 5+5. One Linewoman who gets her first skill while I'm well into my progressions (or when I'm about to face Wood Elves) can go off track, with Dirty Player as a first skill.
Throwers: You have two Throwers, a retriever who starts on offense and a safety/carrier who plays both sides. Keep one on the bench on defense until the first one skills twice. The first Thrower to skill gets Sure Hands; if she doesn't get a special roll next, she ends up with Sure Hands and Kickoff Return, and then rides pine on D, swapping places with her teammate; from there, her sole task is to deliver the ball to the cage or to the Catcher or Thrower who will put it there. When/if she eventually gets to 31, Accurate it is. The second one gets Block if neither gets something special in the meantime. She's sort of a workhorse, and if she lives you'll have a lot of options. If the first one gets +ST or a double on the second roll, or anything unusual on the first roll, this breaks the track, and you should develop the O-only player as the retriever. The single best improvement on this team is +AG on a Thrower, by the way.
Catchers: First skill is Side Step, so you can run inverted wings, and also so you can front the cage with Catch players. This is great, because you can spam Guard and positioning skills in the quick of the action, which helps make up for your low top speed. Second skill is Block. Doubles can be Guard, or if you've already got a lot of Guard on your team, you can ignore it or take Mighty Blow (or, at 31 SPP+, a vanity pick like Nerves of Steel... if you're winning). After two skills, you have options. Coach does a good job laying them out: Fend, Tackle, Diving Tackle, Diving Catch, Sure Feet. I don't think any one of these skills is better than the others by such a large margin as to be clearly better in the face of format, teammates and preference; I'd also submit that Pass Block belongs in that category, if you are so inclined (not I, though if a Catcher somehow lived to 76 SPP and had DT and Tackle, I'd do it in a heartbeat). +MA on 10. On an 11, I'd consider making the guy my Ace/Safety and try to build my wings off a double. +ST doesn't really change the track, though I might take Block over SS (and SS at 31). Let your Catchers hog SPP until they get two skills.
Blitzers: The first three to get normal rolls get Guard. Boring? Okay. Doubles on a first roll is Side Step. I would consider +AV if I got a 6+4. If I don't get any +Stats or Side Step, #4 to skill gets Mighty Blow. After Guard is Stand Firm, or Side Step on doubles; after that (or maybe instead of Stand Firm on one) is some toolbox skill, starting with Grab. After Mighty Blow is Frenzy, or Jump Up on doubles (to follow with Piling On in either case).

Just played my first preseason game with them. Lost 4-2 to nazgobs wood elves, though one of nazgobs touch downs were because of an awefull set of rolls on my part and the other was thanks to a blitz result on the kick off table, without those me and naz would have been pretty even, without the bad set of rolls I would of had my 3rd touchdown.
Did get 2 kills and 6 ko's that match though

Got 50k and 2 blitzers got guard. Gotta say I love this team.
Should I buy another linewoman with that 50k for a second reserve player?

Well my my TV is what I'm worried about, I don't know if I should enter the league with a uber team because a wizard will own me or if I save up for a new blitzer when one inevitably kickes the bucket.

Don't worry about TV on Amazons. Seriously. A 14-player Amazon roster has a peak cost of 1.14M, before skills and FF. That's 50k less than DR-less Dwarfs. No non-Stunty team with a big guy peaks out under 1.2M. No elf team peaks out under 1.3M.
