Talk Fantasy Football

Posted this on the Cyanide boards just now, so sorry for the double post if people saw it over there.

My str 4 thrower on an online private league team of course had to roll 5+5 for her next skill after 16spp, leaving me with a dilemma rather than just being able to give her Block...

So I see three tempting paths for her:

1. Guard, Block and Sure Hands

2. MB, Block and Tackle

3.+MA, Block and Sure Hands

Am leaning more towards nº 1 at the moment although all three have their merits. Currently the only other skills on the team are two Guard blitzers and one linewoman with Wrestle. Have enough money saved to purchase the 2 remaining positionals and get the roster back up to 12 players.

My next opponents will be Chaos (damaged team with no skills), Orcs (good team with decent skills), Amazons, Nurgle and Dark Elves.

Thoughts?

I like option 3.

A MA7, ST4 Blodge Sure Hands ball carrier sounds pretty sweet.

+1 for option 3. I warn you now, she will be nuffled to death.

Strong Arm???

+MA! MA7 is the cure for what ails Amazons.

If she didn't already have Strength 4 I would consider Strong Arm, but now I don't think it makes any sense at all given her main roles.

At the moment I am torn between Guard and +MA. If it wasn't a double I would take the MA, as this player is the main ball carrier and having extra movement is great for that role. Also it's useful for playing her as a Safety on defence, as she can cover more of the back-field for the blitz if the opposition tries to sneak a ball carrier through.

The benefits of Str 4 and Guard though are hard to ignore. I already have 2 Guards, so that would make 3 for the next match and potentially 4 for the following match if another blitzer levels up in time. Having Guard on the main ball carrier also makes it much easier to knock away defenders in contact with her in the cage, as she lends assists against anyone marking her.

Either. Can't go wrong.

Move all the way. The number of times you want that extra square you would not believe. Also guard is a 1/6 chance +MV is a 1/12 so you may not see it again soon.

I took Guard in the end and I found it to be very useful in the next game against Chaos. Having 3 Guards made it much easier to get two dice blocks on the Mino and the Warriors. I personally think that Amazons need as much Guard as they can get their hands on if they want to have any chance of competing later on at higher TVs too. +Ma would have been a great choice too, but I couldn't have both unfortunately!
