Oger Team - without Ogers

Hi there, has anyone ever tried to run an all snotlingteam?

Well, i did last week, it started out as just a fungame and ended ... unexpected.

THe Team: 14 snots - FF=5 - RR=5 - medic - Cheer 10 - assistent couches 5
TV=880 and 120000 left.

i played vs. a rookie skaven team, and i was sure to be butchered
what happened was this:

Skaven - Snots
TD 0 - 3
Ko'ed enemies 2 - 3
injured enemies 2 - 1

As for the reasons,
1. my opponent only had 1 RR,
2. i think snots are better than they seem.
3. Positionplay:i denied blocks by dodging out of tacklezones and forced him to move through lots of tacklezones.
4. did my own blocks mostly on his st2 players, which even snots can handle

and it worked out, i`d say :orc:
although, i don`t think it would work as well vs. st-Teams.

has anyone else any experiences playing a wee-team?

if the adversary had played the atrittion game instead of trying to dodge you had nothing to do.

didn't he block you every turn with the vermins?

you were very lucky though.

an yes i heard one team like that on the spanish forum that some one toook to a naf championship. An as well a all halfling team without treemans.

Although having 14+ snotlings and no one to throw them is pretty much heresy!

Are you sure you were playing well?

"Titchy players are so small that they do not exert a -1 modifier when opponents dodge into any of their tackle zones."

Still better than the 3DBs from St3 players on St1 snots... (IMO)

If you play this long term and cut back here and there, assistant coaches, cheerleaders etc.

You will be able to take Morg every game.

I think gazza ot matt mentioned someone taking a snotty team to a touranament and using morg as the ball carrier.

They did ok.

A guy in my league coached an all-snotling team. Managed 8 touchdowns and 2 draws (out of eight games). My pact team's AG5 dark elf was crippled after being pushed into the crowd by a 3d-my choice block from one of those snotlings. I still hear quite a bit about that one.

I can understand scoring atleast once per game when you are dodging anywhere on a 2+ with a healthy bank of rr's. What's impressive is there was any type of roster to work with after. Points of interest, was there induced players like morg? What teams managed a tie? What we're the scores of the other games? How many casulties were suffered over the 8 games? Those would be the telling stats.

I don't believe he used induced stars at all, as he felt that spoiled the theme. I could be wrong about that, but he didn't use them in either of the games he played against me. He tied against goblins and Norse. Obviously, the second result is much more astounding. The Norse coach was fairly inexperienced at the time, though.

I can't give you a casualty count, but here are the scores:

Snotlings 1-3 Skaven
Snotlings 0-4 Orcs
Snotlings 1-2 Chaos Pact (that's me! and yes, there were some moments when I was dreading the possibility of a draw)
Snotlings 2-2 Norse
Snotlings 2-2 Goblins
Snotlings 0-3 Chaos Pact (me again, more prepared this time)
Snotlings 2-3 Skaven
Snotlings 0-2 Orcs

-That, and even without the -1 he had to roll a lot to move the ball through my lines, and the way i played i only had to fear the blitz each turn.

Still, i don`t think it would have turned out that way against, orcs or dwarfs for example.

I wasn`t quit sure if it was a good idea to buy this stuff up, but, as i wrote, i didn`t think of more than one game. i`d probably cut down the cheerleaders to 5 and the assitants to 0. still, :D , got some good kickoffs out off it.

But, as it was fun, for me at lest, i think i`ll try them some more.

Out of interest, why more cheerleaders than assistants, when they both have exactly the same effect (affect?) on the game?

effect is the noun, affect is the verb. I guess if you have lots of one you are saying "I will win if I roll this result", rather than hedging.

Well, as i mentioned, i build this team as a oneshot.
Didn`t expect it to win, or even survive the game.
For a real league i think i`d buy FF of 9 and neither cheerleader nor assistants.

Update: had another game with them against dwarfs yesterday.
managed a 1-1, but took a lot of injuries.
in turn 8 i had 1 player left standing and already 4 injuries.
