770k inducements for 2220 chaos vs 2990 orc

I am playing against a much higher TV Orc team with my chaos team in a league match.
I have 14 players with 4 guards, 3 MB/Claws (including one with Piling on, and another one with tackle), and 1 MB / Piling on.

He has 16 9 guards, and 9 MB, 2 piling on, 3 skill ups pending (he will probably take a couple more piling on), 3 +1 Ag players, and lots of dodge players...

Which inducements should I take?

I am considering:
1a/Morg + Blackhoof but Blackhoof might not survive long
1b/Morg + Borak to man the line of Scrimmage
2/Blackhoof+Lord Borak+apo+babes to help keep my key players on the field

I m not too fond of using a wizzard because I don t have good ball retrieving capabilities. Same for bribes: I would need a good field advantage to make good use of it.

If going for option 1b, I could sack a newbie beastman to get enough gold for an apo(I really need to win this one as he is ranked 2nd of the division, and me first).

Morg + halfling chef

take away his rerolls and use Morg to bear take the point of attack.

I hadn t thought of that, but he has 6 rerolls, so that would still leave him with 4.5 on average :o

it is worth a try, just like most inducements they can fail before they have a chance... first kick off a thrown stone could kill Morg...

if you get him down to 3 rerolls or even 4 you have a chance late in the half to exploit his mistakes...

I'd definitely take the wizard. The threat of the wizard against his cage will make it worth the 150k.

The wizzard sounds tempting inded. It s just that in most of my chaos vs orc games, I ve been way ahead or way behind the opponent (mostly depending on who could inflict high casualties first), while a wizzard works better when things are pretty close (that, and I keep forgetting him and end up using him randomly on turn 16).
But yes, forcing them to play in a looser pack could help diminish their overwhelming guard advantage indeed.

** Edit ** added option with wizzard to the poll

With all that Guard Spam I went with Blackhoof, Borak & Wizard. you get another 1.5 bigger guys, one with horns, and the wizard as a cage threat. Additionally, you can always just use Lightning, if it is to your advantage.

Brick Farth & Grotty + Morg and a dirty trick card (if you have 3 slots open, becuse of miss next game).

This will give you 2 strong guys and the optional TTM scoring with AG4 goblin.

I really like a combo of the above 3 ;):

From stashman, brickfarth + grotty if you can fit 3 guys in the roster..

From Ian -- the wizard is very well worth 150k in such a game..

And finally lord borak or grashnak, maybe rather grashnak with the wiz.., 300k-310k + 290k + 150k you have 20k-30k unused, but that's ok.

You have what it takes to win vs orcs (a clawkiller). Grash + wiz + maybe the TTM threat will make it very hard for your opponent indeed.

Brickfarth passes on a 2+ (nerves, strong arm). So the TTM could actually happen, just need 3+ pickup, 2+ hand off, 2+ bone head, 2+ throw, some bounces and 3+ land.. it's not the likeliest plays but even if its just 20% it might well be worth inducing the ogre over the simple borak..

I eventually took Morg and Borak to get both strength and resilience against the orcs (I wanted to avoid a pyrhic victory, and he had the option of letting his Ag4 Accurate blodge strong arm thrower stay in the back of the field anyway to negate the wizzard). My claws worked wonder, and Borak even made a cas resulting in the orc giving up in turn 7 during his drive(score would have been 0-1 for me on turn).

Thanks for your advice!

Did he really concede before a single TD was scored?

If so, that's hella weak. I expect way better of a top Coach from our league.

He had no one left in range anymore to stop me from scoring :)
I think it was wise in the long run, even if unexpected.

Still not a reason to concede.

You score the TD and both teams set up after the kick off. A whole half remained to be played.

Only thing I hate more than a Coach that won't stick out their games and fight to the end are Basher Coaches that don't stick out their matches.

As soon as Cyanide implements the proper concede rules, I'll stop complaining.
