3rd skill for a Block, AG4 Dwarf Runner

What skill shall I take for a Block, AG4 Dwarf Runner? Normal roll. Nothing seems that worthwhile. KoR? Fend? Strip Ball? Dauntless? Pro? Pass? Kick?

I'd be tempted by KoR.

Even on a deep kick you can get him back into the defensive dorf line before the elves get there.

Alternately, you could go tackle/SB and make him a backfield sweeper.

Fend him up.Leader is a decent choice too.

KOR is golden.
Fend is nice.
HMP can be a nice little weapon to have in your arsenal (using him as a punter).
Tackle or strip ball if you want him to be a "you go down, I grab the ball myself." type.
Leader is good, but he's already got a target on his head.

*though I see you went for the KOR.*

As it's a B team, destined to play a lot of clawmbpo teams. I'd fend him up, then later on leader to avoid getting too bloaty. I see you took KoR already though, I would not /:.

Team will try to stay lowish TV to avoid at least the PO part of Clawpomb.

Good choice, Joe. I know Carnis panned it, but failing to secure the ball in the cage is the #1 killer of Dwarf teams. Well, that and lots of 10+ AV rolls off the LOS.

I have never taken KoR ever, I see it as a total waste of a skill up.
I would like to hear from someone who has taken it and used it successfully because I view it as the worst skill in CRP.

If the ball scatters wide, your dedicated retriever isn't stuck on the sideline. If it goes shallow, you don't have to choose between caging up on-site (whether it's a desirable place or not) and QP'ing; you can just put a single guy on the ball, then use the Runner to pick up and move into a safer place. If it goes deep, you can get the ball from the endzone and then move up 3 squares (or maybe up to the blitz line or something). This reduces the risk of the worst possible thing happening.

KOR on Dwarf Runners is always my second skill after Block unless I roll doubles. It is a fantastic skill which really helps out your offense on that crucial first turn.

Problem for me is how it compares to +MA, it just doesnt ;-).

Oh, no. MA (or any stat) over KOR anyday, especially on a Dwarf Runner! But on a normal skill, it's quite good. It's better than +MA on the pickup, but I'd much rather have the MA. KOR/+MA is also a good combo. It's a good #3 on a Ghoul, if the other Ghouls are going nicely (that is, if you don't need the spot for Fend, or if you don't have to put all your Ghouls on defense). I try to get an Orc Thrower with KOR/Acc, and one with Block/Fend or Block/Leader, depending on format and development. (That's not how my FUMBBL team went; my KOR target never developed, so I went Block/KOR/Acc on the one skilly Thrower; the other will go Block/Fend or lose his job to either a third Lineman or nothing).

I had the same prejudice but i took KoR (mostly on matts advice) and it worked very well. In my last games i am always able to build a cage in the middle of the pitch near by my LoS in my first turn and this was a huge advantage. Two times my KoR runner catched the ball after the kick off..so great..ty Matt!

So my top runner has: Block, Fend, Kick-Off Return

Orc Thrower, I always take KOR. I love that skill. 2 reasons:
1) - 1/3 to 1/2 of the kick end up within range so I can attempt a free catch (4+) and start the turn with the ball securely in his hands.
2) - secondly he can move quickly up the field and start caging on the LOS or further
3) - (I'm an orc, I don't know how to count), I can receive with more players closer to the LOS and leave him by himslef in the back. He can reach the whole backfield without GFI from now on.

My current Orc Thrower is a true legend in the league and he probably all the hated skills you would never have taken (well maybe not for block)
MV6
AG4
KOR
Block
Dump-Off (most of my team has AG4, and it takes a lot of resources to get to him so my opponent can't really capitalise on their succeful block)... oh and I dump off usually once or twice a game, so yes the skill sees a lot of use.

On Khemri Thro-ra's KOR is good too. Khemri need to get the ball into a cage too but you also get 5+ catch attempts on the ball quite often. And any bonus ball handling rolls are crucial for Khemri.
