Bad news is that I'm an absolute newb with hoppers. Good news is that I've got some time before this team tournament and am perfectly content being the weak link on the team. Rules allow no more than 2 of any skill upgrade to be taken.

Specific questions:

1. Is a Krox worth it? If so, what's his role?
2. Blitzers? How many do you take and how do you deploy them?
3. Are 4 rerolls enough?
4. Is kick worth sacrificing a wrestle skill pick for?

Also, is the Krox on the line or does he have a bigger purpose than just presenting a speed bump for bashers?

vs running teams: 2 squares back, ready to shut down a flank attack

Get two Blitzers, they are fun. Go Block and / or Guard with them. Block and DT makes them good markers while also providing reliable Blitzing and maybe even harassing cage corners with JU. Leaping will not always work against a cage .
Or give them Wrestle for sacking. Anyway, DT can win you games.

Krox and a Blitzer on the ball carrier or receivers : Muhahaha! Just prevent a chainpush.

I also like Frenzy on a Leaper. Makes the opponent thinking about his players and the sideline.

Why would you ever want to use a Blitzer as a ball sacker? Wrestle on a Linefrog does the job equally good + keeps your Blitzer on his feet.

Anyway, Blitzers are fun, but 2 Linefrogs > 1 Blitzer in tournament play.

Only if I lack Wrestle on other players and want to take support skills like Frenzy or Kick and still have room for dodge.

Wrestle and JU isn't bad, just different.

I likeDt, so I like players that start with it.

Break Tackle on the Krox should be considered also so that you can make the most of his tail as well as an additional cage breaker (no that you need it with a whole team of leap ).
