Vampire niggle what to do?

Post by TheDoc »

Hello,

Well the Huntingdon league in good old Blighty has started again and I am two games in with the Vamps of the 'Nachthaften Nightlords'. I have a problem. Playing vs Chaos last night and one of the lovely vamps got niggled with the regen failing. How bad is a niggle on a vamp? Is it worth a cut?

Cheers

"It depends" would be my (unhelpful) answer...

- If he was an unskilled Vampire and you have the cash to rebuy, I'd say it was a no brainer to cut him and replace.
- If he was unskilled and you don't have the cash to rebuy, I'd say if you play in a fixed schedule your next opponent should determine whether he stays or goes. If you are giving away inducements because of him then drop him and save for the replacement. Or if you could get some juicy inducements by dropping him then do it.
- If he is close to being a Blodger, then he's not a guaranteed sack. ST4 Blodge on a relatively new team won't get knocked down all that easilly, so his niggle becomes less of an issue.
- If he is a key player already on a new team, no need to cut him yet, just don't apo him and don't feed him SPP.

Make sense? The niggle itself isn't much of an issue, especially once he has Blodge. just expect him to draw more attention and more fouls than most. Which in itself isn't always a bad thing. Revoke his rights to the apothecary and Nuffle will sort it all out! Our league had a ST5 Chaos Warrior who got niggled early on and kept. He made it all the way through the season with no issues until the playoffs. He'd fit into the 4th scenario above I think.

I would agree with the above poster.

I, for the record, hate Niggled Vamps. Too much TVR sitting in the KO bin for too long.

As the vamp is in a new team I will keep it for the moment and keep it out of the way. I have purchased a replacement already but I will have to see how it plays out as I won't want to lose the player so early in the teams career.
