Necros, two skill-up

I'm closing a game. Skilled a Werewolf and a Wight.
I'm leaning on Dodge (M-Blow) on the former, S-Firm (dodge) on the latter.
Opinions? Next match is the playoff, against Chaos Dwarves (with zero Dodge)
The team:
Ww 1: block, m-blow, tackle
Ww 2: block, ???
FG 1: block
FG 2: -
Wi 1: Guard, ???
Wi 2: Guard
Gh 1: block, sure hands
Gh 2: -
Zo 1: kick
Zo 2: block
Zo 3: block
3x Zo: -
3 rr
6 ff

Of course, dodge and tackle will not be extra helpful against CDwarves, so if you only care about the next game...

That said, I would still go dodge on the WW, and MB or tackle on the wight
On doubles, MB for the WW, dodge for the wight

Stand firm is really good, but it's a later skill to me

WW: If you are only focused on this game choose SS - otherwise Dodge. Doubles = MB

WI: MB or SF. Doubles = Dodge

Interesting. So good in your opinion?
Yet it's a by-mail game: s-step is automatically resolved by the software.
Do you think it's still better than dodge?

No, SS stinks then.

SS gives you safety on the sidelines, and I guess the software would handle that, but it also gives you a lot of power in where to attack next which you won't have - especially important with Frenzy.

This was my thinking as well. Side-step is great for setting up traps, but I doubt the software sagacity.

If this is the PBeM client then I think you can pre-set where SS will put you, or tell your opponent if it's a slightly unusual or a critical one.

Oh and note Dodge is a good choice overall on a WW since you want them standing up and on the pitch. But with 6 tackle players on the other side of the ball it isn't worth as much...

Yes, I know, but it's still sub-optimal.
And, most importantly, a wrong placement is particularly bad for a frenzy player.

Agree. Yet this Ww spend a lot of time body-guarding the MB-wolf, so he need to dodge too much for my liking :-?

MB is tempting, because... well, because it's MB :orc:
But I found my Wights don't blitz a lot, overshadowed by the MB Wolf, while the slow plodders make most of the blocking. Someone got similar experience?

SF on the wight is good for a couple of reasons:

Wolves will do move of the blitzing
You need guard near the sideline
You'd rather the wight take the hit then the wolf - and SF/Guard draws hits.

That being said, MB is a fine choice...

+2
That is my experience, too.
Rolled two normal skills, went Dodge and S-Firm.

without considering your next opponent is ChaosDwarfs, i would go for dodge for the WW, and for StandFirm (or Mighty Blow) for the Wight.

considering this. i would hesitate between dodge & SideStep on the WW, and won't change my mind for the wight.
