Newcomer Amazons against high rated Chaos (270+TR)

Post by harley_topper »

I'm in big trouble now,
In the first league match I have to face a ugly bunch of chaos. There TR is about 270+ and the all have block, some claw and three of chaos warriors and his mino have piling on. :(

My amazons start like this

3 Blitzers
2 Catchers
6 Linewoman
1 Apo
4 TRR
8 FF

I have no idea how I can survive this match, I think he'll dstroy my newies and the rest of the league is only to recover from this match. :?:

What can I do, I need really help.

just dodge away lots, i would worry about keeping your team together rather than winning

that's what I have in mind, not winning only survive
he has some tackle too,
but I need some SPP too, how do I get them, when I don't try to score a TD

Refuse the match....

.... if playing straight from the rulebook then I believe you can do so....

If it were a one-off, who cares, but it's not.... If he makes a fuss, tell 'em to pick on someone his own size!

sometimes you just have to not worry about getting spp and just be thankful for the mvp

ive played many a game where thats all i got, couldn't break armour and some bad luck stopped all my scoring attempts, just the way it goes

I think I should dodge away and take my two dice blocks and don't follow up, right?

Should I really try to stop his offence or should I let him score easily?

if he doesn´t play nice and tries to beat you up you can only run away.

nuff said.

ps: if he uses piling on to get cheap casualties on your av7 players gang on on his prone players and foul the hell out of them. you might get a cas = spp and your player might be sent off = safe. :D

good idea, I'll foul the hell out of 'em.
i hope the ref will sent some players off :D
but a cas caused by a foul will not gain SPP :(

I hope I get some good handicap rolls, I get 4 and one to pick myself from the table, but I think the handicap rolls will end up like this:
"You will recieve extra 10,000 gp if you say Bloodweiser forever after every kick off" :pissed:

This looks like a really ugly lopsided match. It might be in your best interest to concede the game if things start going really badly for you. You probably want to pick "in the bag" to keep his best players off the pitch.

Also, remember the new rule/clarification that came in 2002 rules review; you only need to place three players on the field in the kick-off.

Ask to see his roster before hand. If he's got a few niggles pick "VIRUS"

Hey, Veron. Good point.

Maybe just set up 3 linewomen per drive and try to dodge away so he just gets the one blitz/turn. It may be worthwhile to hope for cash on the handicap roll to buy replacements.

of course, this means you're going to have an even uglier Chaos team in the league down the road, as he racks up easy SPP, but I think you need to concentrate on survival here.
