the -1 to fan factor for losing

quick question:
why does the losing team recieve a -1 to fan factor roll while the winner gets a +1 opposed to similar bonuses that are given for team winnings but at no penalty for the loser?

wondering:
the difference between the winner and the loser is 2 when rolling for fan factor. further modifiers are gained through TD and CAS...so the winning team is much more likely to have gained at least another +1 just because it is the winning team. the losing team on the other hand is less likely to have gained a +1 from either TD or CAS (more likely to have gained a +1 because of CAS).

the way i see it is there should only be a bonus to the winner, not also a penalty for the loser. at least when considering the new role fan factor plays in limiting the teams team rating.

bj0rn - just a thought...

Fans don't like losers. If they lose but make the game exciting, they have a better chance of keeping the fans they have, but if they don't even get that then the fans will leave. Losers shouldn't have a chance of gaining new fans unless they really make a great game of it.

Also note that a noble defeat (causing some hurt or scoring) will negate the negative anyway.
The -1 only comes into play if your team have played like muppets.

yeah, thats true...

was just wondering because of the "logic" behind the winnings roll...why shouldnt it be the same?

Because fans are not logical ... however owners are very logical and the cash they pay is based on win or loss .... they really don't care if it was a good game ... the fans do.
