Hey guys,

Well we just finished up week three on Monday, so I thought I would go ahead and post a team update incase anybody is bored enough to want to read it :)

First Game: Vs Undead team ironically named "Team Squishy"

Won the toss, and decided to receive the ball to try to get the first strikes in against everybody's favorite Mummies. Have I mentioned before how much I LOVE having a riot for the initial kick off and losing 5 turns of the game off the bat? Oh great fun. Failed to score in the first half, traded blows with the Mummies, got a BC knocked out by a blitzing wight..not looking good. Second half starts off with the Undead player scoring on his 4th turn. I manage to badly hurt his Mummy to clean him off the field and score the equalizer on my 8th turn. Needless to say we went to over time. he received, and about half way thru over time I was able to force a turn over in his end of the field and grab the ball with a Bull Centaur to score! wooh...I can now tell why everybody just loves undead teams..very...tough...RESULT: 2-1 CD victory in OT... 4th Chaos Dwarf gets Guard, Hobgobbo picks up a skill (Dirty Player), and since both teams had high fan factor we made a killing on the money chart, so I picked up my 4th team re-roll :)

Second Game: VS Chaos

Same guy I opened the season against. He dropped his High Elves after losing two more players against a Goblin team last week.. Needless to say things ended poorly for the newly formed Chaos Team. Both his "helpme!" rolls got him very little, and the kick off result gave me Blitz! which pretty much set the tone for the rest of game. End result was a 3-0 drumming, with a chaos warrior and a beastmen dead, and one other beast men seriously injured. Plus side of the game was one of my Bull Centaurs went absolutely nuts, scoring two of my touchdowns, getting one casualty, and THEN grabbing the MVP award...got two skills off this game. One a skill, the other an Agility upgrade.

Post game I picked up my 13th player, a nice shiny troll to help control the other teams pesky ST 5 players. Since my first BC took Block, I think he will become my hitty centaur, while the centaur who got the AG upgrade will probably take break tackle and become mister offensive..

So quick team over view: I have 6 Chaos Dwarf Blockers, 4 of which have Guard now. 4 Hobgoblins, one of which just picked up Dirty Player. 2 Bull Centaurs, one with Block, and one with Break Tackle and a +AG upgrade. I just picked up a Troll, and I now have 4 TRR..Next spending..I'm thinking maybe pick up a couple back up hobbos...and then I'm not sure..any suggestions?

okay, thats all guys, hope nobody fell asleep

Congrats on the good results :D

I personally wouldnt take BT for the +AG BC because now it isnt as big an advantage as it was when only AG 2.

Why dont you give him something to emphasize his already enhanced ballplaying ability?

Sure Hands: protection against Strip Ball on offence and great for picking up loose balls on defence

On doubles:
Dodge: general protection and AG 3 + Dodge is about as good a dodger as you will find on a CD team

Catch: makes him a strong and fast catcher

Of course you will sometimes miss him as a violent Blitzer, but if you let him lurk in enemy territory with a hobbo to assist him, he will tie up a number of enemys hopefully leading to you outnumbering the opponent elsewhere on the field. And if he gets the ball somehow he will be difficult to stop. One of my regular opponents has succes playing his BCs as catchertypes downfield and it is really annoying.

Good luck :D

AG+ on a Bull Centaur ... you have been blessed by NUFFLE, my friend!

I'd not pick break tackle on this player as well. 3+ is good enough for a dodge, no need for another valuable skill to go to 2+ Block and Sure Hands are obvious choices, Dodge or Standfirm on doubles. Consider you might roll another AG+ (i have an AG5 hobgoblin), then break tackle would be completely wasted!

For the other BC, break tackle is a must as next skill though.

I fully agree with sure hands. You're 6 matches into the season and you're going to start seeing strip ball more frequently. It also gives you a free reroll to pick up the ball. Doubles on your ball carrier has to be dodge in this case to make him a true terror to get the ball away from.

I also have AG3 BC, and I agree with sure hands, but first I would give him Block as it is what your BC really needs. consider him as your blitzer as CD's don't have normal blitzers. and blitzers really need Block. then the easeast way how to score will be blitz through ST3 tackling defender and score easily. take sure hands after block.
my BC are: +1AG, Block, Sure Hands
& Block, Break Tackle, Strip Ball

Ok, your 3 AG Bull Centaur is about to become a SPP hog! (Still waiting on one of these dangit).

Block (to protect him as well as help blitz) then Sure hands (to complete the package) and on doubles take STAND FIRM! Dodge is nice, but in no way does it equal the hate generated in your opponent that Stand Firm does.

yep agree go for block better all round team skill. Sure hands next but the games in between will give your hobgoblins more time to develop. Only just started playing Chaos Dwarf but think treating the hobgoblins with respect is the to play them well. Any bull centaur is the primary target for your opponent so you can maximise the team with more emphasis on Hobs as scores. The 4 re-rerolls will enable your team to play without the specific skills of most teams.

Hey guys!

Thanks for the replies! Apparently Nuffle isn't as angry at me as I thought, I was kinda surprised to see the AG+ come up, as I haven't rolled any stat increases all season. Okay, now for the Bull Centaurs..

I think the AG+ BC will go ahead and grab Block, and then Sure Hands, because I have 4 TRR's so if I need to pick up the ball I can always use one of those, but having Block will keep the poor guy from getting knocked down as often, and will also give him another offensive option (plow thru enemy player). :)

For the second BC, he has Block, so Break Tackle is an obvious next skill, then I am thinking I like Juggernaut's suggestion about Strip Ball.. If he gets another skill after that..maybe I will toss Tackle into the mix so he can be a real ball carrier hunting nightmare for the enemy team..

Thanks again guys! Your advice has been helpful as it always is! :smoking:

Î would go Catch on a double for your AG 3BC. AG 3 BC !!!! Does it sound good to my ears !

My star BC, Bud Spencer, had this skill progression :

Catch, Block, Break Tackle, +1 ST(!!), Dodge

He's quite a pain in the A**...
