How to play WEs in defence against bashy teams?

Well, that's about it. If you happen to know any tactical advice, set-up, common mistakes, how to use their MA or hinder the cage development...

Leap in and sack the ball carrier with a WD, other than that, keep dodging 1 square away, so they can only block one of your WEs per turn. There's more than 8 squares from l-o-s to the endzone, so keep dodging and have someone tough in the backfield to sack a ball carrier if he blitzes out, or take out the catching target if one runs upfield.

Oh yes, and don't get injured! :D

The kick skill is VERY usefull in this case. It will allow you to have a bigger chance of ruining his chance of ever getting a cage up and going. Kicking deeo will force him to throw the ball to the ball carrier (ofc you can be unlucky and the ball scatters right so he might do a hand off), and the more rolls they have to do, the better :-)

But if you can't stop him from getting a good cage up after his 1st round, you'll either have to use your leaping WDs, or do the 1 square dodge each turn as said by Starblayde.

Thanks. The only problem is to have enough players to prevent a breakthrough of the defence once one of the lineelves is blitzed and to actually force the cage to move 1 field per turn only.

Longshot, I know Bifi and I'm sure he searched everything before he asked, so don't be offened.
WE are very hard team to play and even more in our bashy league.

Totally agree with StarBlayde. In addition the Treeman is essential.

sorry, but Treeman is useless in my Opinion.
And because i play WE, i know that there are some threads already somewhere, cos i answered them.
I am not offended at all.

True Longshot there are other threads/past threads, but I can't resist this one. Treemen are not useless IMO. They hold the line that otherwise would be crushed, buying time in offense to throw the ball, and slowing a run in defense.
