Argh! 3 skill increases for Skaven and all went wrong (?)

My Skaven Team:

1x Thrower: Accurate
1x Blitzer: Strip Ball
1x Blitzer: Tackle
2x Gutter Runner: AG5, Leap, Block
1x Gutter Runner: Dauntless
1x Linerat: Kick
1x Linerat: Leader
1x Linerat: Block
1x Rat Ogre: RSC
1x Gutter Runner: no skills
5x Linerats: no skills

Ok, after the last match I rolled a double for my rookie GR and gave him dauntless, now I've rolled again a double, a 5+5. So what now? +MA or Horns?

At the same time two rookie Lienrats also gots skills, I rolled an AG increase for one and for the other an MA increase! I'm really thinking of giving both block ignoring the stat increases. Why have a MA8 Linerat? Why have an AG4 Linerat when I have 2x AG5 and 2x AG4 Gutter Runners? I need more more block, don't you think? At least I would have 3x blockrats for the LOS

1) Horns.
2) No real reason for a mv 8 linerat, take the skill.
3) Never give up ag. U wont always want all of your gr's on the field, this gives u more st on defense.

I have to agree, but I think it should have been "U wont always HAVE all of your gr's on the field" Gives you someone to go to when your STR2 Runners are taking a dirt nap.

1) Agree, no discussion! Add Block, leap and strip ball and you have the terror of the league. Add a Bighand, AG5, leap gutter runner and you have a duo infernale ... the ball want be save anywhere on the pitch not even in the hands of a vamp lord!

2) Both would work well. with the MA increase, i'd go for a shadowing defensive player. Block makes him a line hogger, you need those as well.

3) Agree, you can't have too many AG+ players. This increase gives you an WE lineman in your team. It's the first skill as well, so you can build around it. Add pass block for a defender, e.g. The best thing is, your opponent will not notice him as a big danger when the gutter runners are around as well. I once had a AG4 stormvermin, used him to blitz open a path then left him to "cover" the gutter runners. In 50% of all drives, my opponent used all his defence to cover the GRs and left the SV open to catch a pass and move 7 squares for the touchdown ...

well since you already gave your GR dauntless you obviously wanted to go the Dauntless/horns way... no need to leave it now imho.

I would scrap the MA+ but take the AG, with AG 4 he can better dodge away from those guys that want to hit him... although he's probably gonna be public enemy #2 (after the GR  )

1) Horns. No question about it.

2) I'd take Block on the +MA line rat. These guys die easy, and anything that helps beef them up is useful

3) Keep the +AG. AG4 MA7 players can pass & score to gets lots more spps. He'll either fill in for the throwers or GRs.

I have a Human Catcher with Block, Dauntless and Strip Ball.

I would kill to be able to give him Horns!!!

Agree with most of the above.

I do like the idea of a MA8 shadowing linerat though... next few skills are Block, Shadowing, Tackle, and Diving Tackle. But how likely is it that this guy is going to get that many skills?

Well, with MV8 he can score more easily than most of the LR, and your opponent might not put as much attention on him as the GR.

OK, thanks for all you replies. I went for Horns, Block (instead of +MA) and +AG.

I doubt that a Linerat will get so many skills. I try to spread the SPPs around my team to avoid early aging and I do not like stacking too many skills on an AV7 player. I have the most successful team in my league right now and won my last game against Delfs 6:0 (!) even when I had my 2 AG5 gutter runners in the reserves during the first 3 TDs.

Anyway, my TR is grinding me down, as I always get handicap rolls against me now...
