strength increase on a wight, what now?

Hey i just rolled a strength increase on my wight, and i was thinking hmm where to now? My thoughts are tackle and hopefully a double to give him mighty blow, and then stick him with my mummies. A very strong line of scrimmage indeed, and more flexible with the wights higher movement. But are there any other good skills tailored to this particular style, or am i going the wrong way altogether?

I would have made him a ball hunter giving him tackle and strip ball and on a double dodge.
Another way is to give him sure hands and make him a ball carrier.

Yup, I'd go with Asmodan's advice. Make him a ball hunter if you have trouble on defence, make him a ball handler if you have trouble on offence.

I'd give him tackle next and use him as a sweeper. Doubles I'd be heading for Frenzy.

IMHO there aren't that many choices for a wight on normal skills:
tackle and strip ball
that STR+ comes in handy to those two

When I played my first undead time (my very first blood bowl team indeed) I did exactly the same mistake like you - using my wights on the line of scrimmage.

Wights are your blitzer types - (quite) fast, have block and a decent armor. Use them to strike a hole in your opponents defense when you are on offense and take the opponents catchers/runners out, when you are on defense.

The line of scrimmage is for mummies and zombies only.

With additional strength, he has just become better in his role. Use him even less on the LOS, but use him as your number one sweeper. Skills like tackle/strip ball should be your choices ...

I double that (would triple it if I could)

Just for re-emphasis. He is 100% here.

If you put your Wights on the LoS the Undead are a slow team, if the LoS is manned by your slow positions, then you have a rather mobile team.

And get tackle. I have also had the good fortune to have a STR4 Wight and with Tackle you can really cause damage to the ball carriers

Tackle, Break Tackle, Mighty Blow and Frenzy work really well on a Str4 person.

I have a Witch Elf with Str4 Block, Dodge, Frenzy, Jump Up, Tackle & Side Step.(I should have got her Leap instead of the Side Step)

Trust me there is no one better than Str 4, Block, Tackle and Frenzy for taking out those annoying catchers from those Pansy Elf teams.

Tackle is great and Frenzy for blasting holes in the defence to run the catchers through.

1st get Tackle and then either Frenzy or Mighty Blow(after you hit those catchers you don't have to worry about them again  ).

If you want him to run blocker for the ghouls the Break Tackle and he can dodge away after making the hole and then still be near the Ghoul for assists.

Your choice for playing but I would go with Tackler and then Frenzy.

I would add my agreement with Tackle being his next skill. I run a Chaos Dwarf team, and can attest to the effectiveness of a fast Str4 Tackle player on defense, and to just how much fast weak players w/ Dodge HATE said players..

Wait till he dies in a freak accident (dodge, gfi, blocked by halfling) and then hire another wight to replace him. But don't worry - usually you don't have to wait for long.
