New Necromantic Team with 50 free SPPs
We are about to start our second season and we are allowed 2 teams. Any teams that did not play in last season are allowed 50 free SPPs to give out however they wish. We are still going to roll for all skills gained as per the usual rules.
I am thinking of bringing in a Necromantic team. Is there anyone who has played Necros before and has some good ideas how to distribute the points and what skills to start with?

2x Flesh Golems
2x Werewolf
1x Ghoul
7x Zombie
3x Re-Rolls
8x Fan Factor
Give both Flesh Golems 16 SPP's (two skills, block then mightyblow/ guard/tackle) each, both Weres 6 SPP (one skill each, block) and the Ghoul 6 SPP (either block or sure hands)

I like the roster, but I'd play the long term conservative route and give Block to the Flesh Golems and 4 of the Zombies, with Dirty Player and Kick on two more. The Werewolves and Ghoul should be able to earn their SPP's in quick time since they're the scorers, but getting quick skills on the 2 agility players for a good base is a great opportunity.Ithilkir wrote:2x Flesh Golems

(Personally, I think the best roster you could put together for this would be a Chaos Dwarf team with Guard on 8 players.

Another option is to nuke the SPP's from the ghoul and put one SPP on six zombies, hoping one of them gets an MVP

I would take a Khemri team with 2 Mummies with Block and Pilling on and a 3rd with Block only. Then both Thro-ra would get Block and the other 8 SPP would be spread on the remaining players like Ithilkir suggested...
this would be a killer team to start...
Actualy I think this is a bad Idea to get new teams started...

If you want to power game, a dwarf team is probably even better... just give 8 AG2 players Guard and you'll have a team that will hardly ever take a pounding!Robotorz wrote:I would take a Khemri team with 2 Mummies with Block and Pilling on and a 3rd with Block only. Actually, that's brilliant. I LOVE this idea, especially since the zombies will have such a hard time getting that one SPP to make the MVPs work, and the Ghoul will be scoring plenty of TDs to get his SPPs. This makes sure you don't have wasted MVPs.Ithilkir wrote:Another option is to nuke the SPP's from the ghoul and put one SPP on six zombies, hoping one of them gets an MVP
Obviously, this is a long-term strategy instead of a short-term strategy, but I really like it.

Er, Ithilkir your roster is 1050k (using annual rules).
I'd be tempted by
5 Zombies
2 Ghouls
2 Wights
2 Flesh Golems.
3 TRR
8 FF
Werewolves will skill up quickly anyway, so I'd not worry too much about them starting. Also you don't want a huge liability from lack of apoth/regen so having only 2 without will help.
Skills
Both Flesh Golems Block. Once they have that they will acquire SPPs from casualties at a steady rate.
Both Ghouls block. It keeps them alive.
One wight tackle, the other strip ball. Gives you the ability to defend.
Thats 48 SPPs. The other 2 I'd give to zombies. You could drop one wight down to 3 SPPs and then give those 3 to the other zombies for the "the 1st SPP is the hardest" theory. Then that wight becomes the guy you want to score with 1st.

1 skill for each FG. 1 skill for each Ghoul. 1 skill for each Wight. At 6 SPPs each that's 36 - leaving you another 14 to play with!ianwilliams wrote:Both Flesh Golems Block. Once they have that they will acquire SPPs from casualties at a steady rate.

I agree with IW up to this point. If I am right in saying this, then you could get a Zombie with Kick, and spread the rest around. Or up one of the positionals to have a second skill, and spread the rest. Perhaps a FG with Break Tackle?

This is a golden opportunity to get the slow players SPPs, do not give them to players like Ghouls. In a good game you can feed a Ghoul the ball twice for 6 SPPs to get that Block.Nazgit wrote:1 skill for each FG. 1 skill for each Ghoul. 1 skill for each Wight. I would get the Flesh Golems their 1st skill so that they can make an immediate impact and then give at least 1 SPP to each Zombie getting 2 of them Block.
