Chaos dwarf vs. Chaos Teams

I've got a new CD team and I've go a game against a brand new Chaos Team on monday. Both teams are quite bashy but Chaos got a bit more power with their horns and strength four guys I think. I haven't seen his roster (and will not see before match so no help there) nor played against him but he has played only one game with his team which means he has probably his starting team to field. He is habing some 40+ games played sand I under 10 :-?

I have:

2 BC one with block other with any skill which I take, maybe block, maybe Break Tackle
6 CDB, one with guard and
5 Hobogoblins, one with kick.
3 RR.

So what tactics would you use if you were Chaos Team coach while defending/attacking? Would you try to smash or out run my not too fast dwarves? At least I'm worried about 4 st.r blitzes but if I can block back he is not going to survive :P I'm usually trying to form a cage of a kind and get either my BC or Gobbo on running range.

If you want more info I'll try to find out but I hope that was specific enough:)

If he has a TR100 Chaos team, you'll definitely be the bashy guy here. You have lot of block and AV9, and two fast ST4 players. He has only 11 players - that's his big weakness. Combine it with AV8 and no Block, and you'll see where to nail him...

Get a lot of blocks against Beastmen every turn with your CDs, especially in the first half. Be sure to get that Guard guy in the middle of the action all the time.

Use your hobbos to assist if you need to, but try not letting him block them back. If he ties one up, get a second one to assist and 2D block him. Or dodge the last thing you do in your turn, if you have to.

The BCs haven't got block. That means a 2D blitz with a CD is both better and safer than a blitz with a BC. However, the CDs should get tied up a lot anyway. A good trick is to use one BC to tie up two beatmen - you don't have to block, just stand there and force him to roll 3+ rolls to get out. Then stand up and do the same thing again - AV9 & ST4 is great for this.

Let the hobbos do the ballhandling. Just make sure there is always say 4 of your players close to the ball, so that even if he blitzes your ball carrier he'll have to find elven beastmen to pick it upp.

Good luck!

Always pick Break Tackle first. It lifts BC into a new dimension of speed as they can't be tied up by a single tackle zone any more.

If your next opp is a Chaos team, I'd rather get the BC Block, this will burn the Chaos coach's rerolls pretty fast (together with your dwarves). just make sure to get some use of your hobbos before they all disappear into hobbo heaven.

Agree to all above

And here's a web site that is really good for CD. the offensive tactics of sweeping to oneside and using a BC out front with assists as a bacher and the other as the ball handler is really good. You sweep around the outside instead on trying to blow through the middle, like it says.

Thanks for your replies!

RE: one of his guys was press-ganged in the empires navy. He was the same guy that was press-ganged in his previous match! Maybe he really works for Navy!

I lost the kick-off coin after which I had to receive. Kick-off-table: Perfect defense! Repositioning my team so that those Damn beasts could make only one block and blitz against me. He tried to tie up my guys and I went bashy ending allmost his whole team eating grass. Some turns later one of my gobbos managed to grap the ball and score \o/.

Same set-up, except he had only eight men on the field. Again perfect defense! Dice were mine today. Some hitting and the ref drove one of my fouling gobbos out. By second half he had only five men left because three men failed their KO'd rolls. Two touchdowns this half for me and none for him. The last five turns weren't fun because he had only one beast on the field.

That was it. 3-0 victory. Thanks for all your advice (And Nuffles dice). :)
