Pub Team Devolpment
Hey all, I'm in Darkson's Pub League and I've got a team devolpment question for you. Pub league only allows two position players and for a starting roster, I selected a thrower. I haven't bought a second position player yet. I won my first game 3-0 and gained a skill with my thrower and a lineman. I chose kick for my lineman because I figured being able to place the ball is going to be very valuable in a league full of drunks.
For Sally the thrower I rolled double fives. I normally would take the +MA without a question, but Strong Arm looks so tempting. Plus, a house rule is that if there is a stat increase, Sally losses her NoDeath trait. Actually this looks like a pretty easy choice for me. Anyone think otherwise?

Strong Arm all the way. I took a thrower and a catcher in my pub league (granted we kind of pooped out after three or four matches), and was very happy with my choice. Get a lot of block on your linemen/women, but with strong arm, if your thrower and catcher both show up, you've got a really nice passing game all of a sudden. Especially when you get accurate on the thrower's next advance. Then the pass template looks like: 2+ 2+ 3+ 4+, with a reroll, you're sitting very pretty.
I'd even take an AG increase on the thrower and chance dying, if it came up. I had an AG5, accurate elf thrower. The ability to hit the endzone from the LOS on a 3+ with a reroll is huge. I mean, it's no OTS, but the long bomb can really break another team's back. You can score easily in two turns, and you are always a threat to score, even on defense. A loose ball is a scoring threat, if you can get it to the passer.

Thanks for your suggestions. Turns out I have to do whatever the commish suggests, so I'm taking Frenzy. Sigh. No actually, I'm taking Strong Arm (shhh! Don't tell Darkson!). I picked up 9 SPPs (1 TD, 1 EXP, 1 CAS, and 3 Completions) so Sally isn't too far away from another skill anyways, looking forward to accurate. Thanks for all your advice, stop by the pub sometime and Sally the Barwench with a Golden Arm will be happy to get you a drink. My original plan was to get a blitzer and turn one of my lineman into a pseudo catcher because I figured only one ST 2 catcher was a target (a fast, dodgy target, but one none the less). I went out of my way to take out my opponent's catcher.
