Play by email: Season starts march 1st 2019

I'm interested in this, I think.

Just can't see a way for the format to work that wouldn't mean games moved at a glacial pace, due to having to check so many things that your opponent has control over (Side-Step, Shadowing, Pass Block, Interceptions, just to name a few).

Do you have any more information on it?

Hi Jip and Rolex,
the program is semi-automated - not as automated as BB2, more like playing TT BB on a computer. However, the program handles all rolls, including those that your opponent would do, like interceptions. So, usually, you play your turn (on screen), the program handles everything and records the turn, you email your gamefile to your opponent, who views your turn (if he can be bothered) and playes his own. A game is usually about 20 emails including pre and post game.

Most of the skills Jip mentions are hardly popular choices, except Sidestep, which has been specifically programmed into the Tool, so that it can make a reasonable choice for your opponent. I've played pbem for many years, and it really isn't a big deal. We alsoo play by gentlemans agreement, so you try to think a bit for your opponent (if, say, it sidesteps into a stupid Square, or you're blocking near the sideline and your opponent would choose not to use dodge). In case of doubt, you'd send that extra email, but like I said, it is fairly rare.

Anyway, we'd love to have you on board. Currently there are 6 divisions of 6 teams each, and I expect roughly the same this coming season.
If you're interested then PM me an email address, so I can give you access to the Google drive folder with everything. Then you can try out the program and if you like it, then you could squeeze in a friendly game before march 1st kick-off.

Finally, I should note that we play BB2016, but with NTBB rosters, meaning that 11 teams have been slightly tweaked.

Can prob squeeze in a couple of practice games before the next season starts Jip once you are setup with the tool! Works really well once you are used to the client!
