FUMBLL Leagues - I'm a little confused!

Post by mrcoffee182 »

Ok, played my first game last night... what a wonderful programme! I'm already hooked!

However, I currently have two teams... one in Open and one in Tournement. Does this currently put me in any leagues/tournements?

Also, I've applied to be in some groups on the group list, a different one with each team. Once I'm aprroved can I only play teams in those groups and no-one else?

the open division is the main fumbbl offical league, this affects your coach ranking unless you opted out and your team on the main teams table

matches in here divx and ladder all do that but affect the different tables, they also all combine for the fumbbl championship

divx is basically the same as open but using the experimental teams and rules as best as they are coded into javabowl

division t is for player run tournaments, the only real reason to have a team in divt is to join things like the empire (all human) league run by another coach, or for groups of friends who want to play each other so they don't skew the rankings and race statistics

there are also offical FUMBBL cups every now and then, there is one semi final and then the final of the open cup (using teams from the open division) and we are currrently waiting sign ups for the division X cup (you can find this in the groups list)

then there is the stunty division (which i think is lame ;]) where there are various totally unoffical stunty teams which is just a mess about to be honest

Ok excellent.

I saw the FUMBBL X Cup sign up, but it says I wouldn't be able to play any other games than those in the league. Is that the normal way with cups?

if your team enters a cup it is cup tied, so that means once the cup has started that team can't play outside the fixed schedule

its to stop people cheating the system by playing an easy opponent between rounds to keep the team fresh for every game

you can still use your other teams in that division while the cup is being played

not really you want to have a few teams in each division and then usually enter your best one into the cup

this is usually the best way you are going to have any chance of winning it cause there are usually a lot of 200+ teams in there

Oh right. Well it says my team has to have played 5 games before I add another in the same league, so i think I'll wait until the next cup comes around! Cheers for the help!

I was thinking of entering my DE into the X cup actually. They're like 153/144 though and I noticed a lot of tough teams were on there. Still, it could be fun if the schedule is one I can work with. What kind of prizes do they usually have? Not that I could win of course.

What's the BFL? I just found out I'm moving next week anyway, and last time I moved I lost internet for like 6 mos (Deutsche Telecom). So I probably won't be in any tourneys until after I get settled in.

Hey that's pretty cool. I checked out the link Valen and it looks like a lot of fun. I'll have to start looking into some of the leagues and stuff after I get moved in.

While on the Subject of BFL, The BFL and Empire leagues are seperate leagues,
so people wanting to join BFL, please Don't apply to the Empire league.
some confusion going on i think.

Thank you
