I find Strip Ball to be virtually useless. Last time I took it was on a Human Blitzer, who played 20 games without using it once! The Leap + Strip Ball combo is useful, but to use that you should get Leap first! I don't see where Tackle comes in, unless your league is set to have lots of Amazons and other Elves. :) Dodge and Block will serve you better.
I am of the opinion that strip ball is a must-have skill in all elf teams. Strip ball can be usefull even without using it as your opponent will think twice about what player he'll run the ball with.
I agree it isn't as usefull on human blitzers but elven blitzers (and dragon warriors) have the great manouvrability needed to make the skill a game winner. With my dark elves strip ball regularly makes a big difference in a game.
First blitzer that reaches 16 spp's always gets strip ball (first skill is dodge).

What I meant is that newbs often try ridiculous things that an old pro would never attempt (because he has seen it fail so often). I played against a rookie WE coach in PBeM once. The first thing he would do every turn, before even protecting the ball, was try 3 dodges in a row (3+ > 3+ > 2+) to get a potential receiver into my half. Not once, but TWICE - once on each side of the pitch. At least with AG 4, he had some hope of this coming off for him. On defence, many newbs will try any dodge roll, no matter how unlikely, if it gives them a chance of getting the ball. This is what I mean - no offence intended! :D Just that if you try something daft, it isn't guaranteed to fail! lol

just wanted to post a status update that I had a chance to play my high elves against a norse team in a scrimmage - i didnt take my 9 & 2 starting lineup that i will be starting our league with but instead ran 2 throwers, a catcher, 2 RR's and the rest in linemen. Beat my opponent 2-1 in overtime, woohoo! :) I definitely like the helves, twice after kickoffs my opponent was able to pass the ball to a catcher on the line in the wing and run him halfway up my side of the pitch with 1 assist (not very strong D i know, but I was still pround of how I played against it) and both times I was able to cover back to the runner, knock him over and scoop the ball, then throw to my player downfield and run halfway down HIS side of the pitch with 3 guys covering my runner's back. Unfortunately I was only able to score on one of those opportunities since the first time that happened with in the 8th turn of the 1st half, but the second time was for the win in OT 8) 8)

Can't wait to play these guys in a league :D
