Double Blitz

In our league we have take to Double blitz to enable the man with the skill to Blitz once then continue and blitz again....are we understanding this right ?

What I understand of this skill is that you get to hit the person a second time if he isn't knocked down on the first hit. I could be wrong though.

Longshot ... here is the text of the rule from the MBBL2 .. and no its not official ... but there is a chance that it could get printed someday as a house rules article for good new skills in BB Mag ... who knows ...

Double Blitz (STRENGTH TRAIT) - A player with this skill may throw one additional block against the same player after the first on a blitz move if neither of the players is knocked down. Unlike a Frenzy, this additional block is optional.

As stated in the other thread I think it is different enough from Frenzy to be allowed in the MBBL2. Zombie has disagreed with this before on the BBC, but I see enough differences between the two skill to allow both in my league.

I think there are a number of skills/traits in MBBL2 that would make interesting house or experimental rules, such as double dauntless, jaggernaut, trip up but IMO I think that double blitz could be tweeked a bit so that it's not so similar to frenzy (yes, the extra block is optional but there should be more than this to make it a different skill/trait). I would suggest that it be made into a true double blitz and allow not just two hits on one person, but one hit on two people. If the first person hit falls down and the blitzing player still has MA left, then let him/her carry on the blitz and hit another player (only once no matter what the outcome). Basically double blitz would be hitting one player twice in order to knock him down, but allowing a second hit on another player only if the first hit on the first player resulted in a knock down. Some may think this is too powerful, but it is a trait and only available on doubles and the ability to hit two people in a blitz is only if the first hit succeeded. Anyway, just an idea.
