I think the summary of this whole thread is that undead, like every other team, have some cool things going for them, which gives them an advantage: Among these are:
-cheap st3 linetypes
-regenerate on almost everybody
-2 mummies with st5, and regen (that can use rerolls)
-decent speed at other skill positions (wights and ghouls)
But they also have disadvantages...among these:
-no apothcary
-no wizard (used to be a MUCH bigger deal than it is now)
-mummies are VERY slow and AG1
-no passing skills
-only mummies can get ST skills'
-overall slow and low AG
-very expensive rerolls
The trick to coaching them well, just as with any other team, is to minimize the effects of their weaknesses and maximize their strengths. The key to beating them is the opposite: take advantage of their weaknesses with the individual strengths of whatever team YOU have. That's what makes a good coach.
I can say that our league has never had a problem with undead being overpowered. Mummies are great, but with ma3 and ag1 their effect on the field can be minimized. The rest of the team will be outrun by elves, out-hit by chaos or orcs or dwarves.
The fact that wizards are a lot less prominent in the LRB rules make the undead comparatively more potent (since they never had them anyway) but they are still not going to win every tourney. I really don't think there's a system-wide balance issue here at all.
Is the undead team overpowered?

Thank you, you also believe they are not overpowered.
It was merely a question,
I didnt title the thread "BoB bitching about undead",
or "I'd like to whinge about undead"
I just wondered if others had the issue that we did.
Apparently not. Fair enough. That should be all for this topic.
See yall on some other thread

I agree that the Undead can be v powerful in the right hands, but I fully agree with the idea of playing against their weaknesses. True, Mummies are strong, but if you keep out their way they can't hit you. He may form pockets with them, but only having two means you can get in somehow...
Undead can't have Big Guys, so they have to have some form of heavy hitter. Mummies fill the gap, but are technically inferior to most other big guys in terms of MA and AG. True, they have no nega-traits, such as Bonehead, but this doesn't make them all-powerful.
No team is unbeatable, there is always a way around any defence!!
Anyway, I suspect Undead as we know them will be phased out at the end of the year.... Khemri & Vampires will replace them
