Just thought I'd introduce myself, I've been reading this board for a month or so and you guys appear sensible enough compared to for instance the kiddies at the eye of terror board this summer.
I started out playing Blood bowl with the second edition, loved the fluff but found the game a bit too slow so i stopped.
Started up again briefly when a friend of mine picked up the 3rd ed,
found it in the basement a couple of months ago and decided to start a league.
A couple of questions:
I really don't like the aging rules.
Suppose I drop them, after roughly how many games will the game become unbalanced? I assume the only good answer is it depends, but some kind of general idea?
I found some permanent secret weapons house rules on some blood bowl site, don't remember which one, what problems can i expect if i go with them? Same here, general tendencies please.
Thanks people!

First, welcome on tbb, hope you ll enjoy it .
Now for your 2 questions, i think you won t find a proper answer, because those are some of the most controversed and discussed things yet.
For aging and secret weapon, a lot of people are working on some different system, but everything is still under work, tough you ll find some idea by using the search engine, or browsing the "New concept" section.

Thanks.
All the alternatives to aging look really complicated though,
since my league is all new players, and because I generally prefer simple rules, I'd like to avoid both complicating things and having to keep records of too many extra player stats. So I guess my alternatives are to go with the LRB aging or drop aging altogther. I'd like to know what to expect if I drop them though.
3rd ed had no aging, right?
So the rules were introduced for a reason, probably something like to come to terms with uberplayers?
What are everyone's experiences from playing with no aging?

Welcome to TBB!
We use ageing in our league, but all loathe it. If we dropped it I wouldn't expect things to get too bad, but our league is set up to run for about 10 games or so and then reset to new teams.
